Hebei Man Sentenced to Prison for Distributing Information About Persecution of His Faith

(Minghui.org) A Handan City, Hebei Province resident was recently sentenced to a three year and three month prison sentence for raising awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been targeted by the Chinese communist regime since July 1999.

Mr. Yue Sheguo was arrested on June 14, 2020 while distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. The local police and officers of the Yongnian District Domestic Security Office broke into his home the next day and ransacked it. His family received the criminal detention notice issued by the Guangfu Town Police Station two days later.

The police first submitted Mr. Yue’s case to the Yongnian District Procuratorate, which then transferred it to the Congtai District Procuratorate. He stood trial at the Congtai District Court on March 12, 2021 and was recently convicted. It’s reported that he would be taken to an out-of-town prison.

This is the sixth time that Mr. Yue has been arrested for practicing Falun Gong. He was arrested four times between July 1999 and July 2003. His fifth arrest was on April 26, 2017 for talking to people about Falun Gong, which resulted in an one-year sentence given by the Yongnian District Court in December 2017.
