(Minghui.org) Master Li (Falun Dafa’s founder) has taught us that everything before us is for Dafa disciples.

“Everything here in human society was established for Fa-rectification, and all that exists today exists for the sake of my Dafa disciples validating the Fa.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Canada Fa Conference”)

In my household, there are two female cats, which my non-practitioner wife and children take care of. The only way for the cats to enter and leave the house is by going to the back door and waiting to be let in or out. When the older cat wants to come into the house, she will often stand on her back legs, claw on the glass, and meow loudly, as though her life depended on it, until someone lets her in.

The younger cat by contrast will sit quietly and patiently by the door until someone lets her in. She will often sit away from the door on a nearby outdoor table and chairs, or even at the back of the garden under the hedge, waiting to be let in. When she is let in, the younger cat can be heard to send a quiet, gentle meow of thanks as she goes through the door, even though she may have been waiting for a long time.

I have come to understand that I should not be clawing on the door of enlightenment or on the door of consummation. I should sit patiently (ren), working away on my mind and character with faith, knowing that it will open when I have made sufficient progress and the time is right.

Master taught us about removing our attachments:

“When a cultivator cultivates in this world he is to get rid of all sorts of human attachments, and only then can he become a divine being. Otherwise, any attachment or any element in the human world that weighs on your mind becomes a lock that fastens you down and prevents you from leaving.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2005 Manhattan International Fa Conference”)

Additionally, Master said,

“It is in fact time to let go of your last attachments. As cultivators, you already know that you should, and in your actions you have, let go of all worldly attachments (including the attachment to the human body) and have made it through the process of letting go of life and death. Then is being attached to reaching Consummation an attachment? Isn’t it also an attachment born of human desire? Would a Buddha be attached to reaching Consummation? As a matter of fact, those cultivators who are truly approaching Consummation don’t have this attachment.” (“Eliminate Your Last Attachments(s)”)

This is my current understanding of this experience. Please advise me of any omissions.
