Germany: Practitioners Hold Events in Nuremberg to Celebrate World Falun Dafa Day

(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners in the Franconia region of Bavaria, Germany, held a truth clarification event in Nuremberg on May 8, 2021, to celebrate World Falun Dafa Day, and to wish Master Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, a happy 70^th birthday.

Practitioners held activities in front of St. Lorenz Church, Nuremberg on May 8, 2021.

Practitioners started off the day’s events by demonstrating the Falun Dafa exercises in front of St. Lorenz Church, a famous landmark in downtown Nuremberg. The peaceful scene caught the attention of many passersby who stopped to read the display boards and to chat with practitioners.

Many people signed a petition to stop persecution of Falun Dafa and some wanted to learn the exercises. 

One couple said, “This exercise is very good. Do you teach it in Nuremberg? We really want to learn it.” A practitioner wrote down the address and schedule of the next exercise teaching class on a piece of paper. The wife held the paper in her hand tightly and thanked the practitioners before leaving the information tent happily.

A Chinese young man talked to several practitioners and asked many questions about Falun Dafa. He said that many people his age knew how bad and lawless the Chinese Communist Party was. “I used to be an angry youth but many of my viewpoints changed now. The persecution of Falun Dafa should stop immediately. Thank you for sharing this information with me,” he said.

Background: What is Falun Dafa?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people have embraced the teachings—which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance as well as five gentle exercises—and experienced uplifted health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline's growing popularity as a threat to the CCP's atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, issued an order to ban the practice.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 22 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. More have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply the organ transplant industry.

Under Jiang's personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
