(Minghui.org) Only a few years after two Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province residents served heavy terms for practicing Falun Gong, both of them were arrested and sentenced together again for raising awareness about the persecution.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Mr. Liu Binglin, 53, and Ms. Chen Limei, 46, spray painted messages in public areas to raise awareness about the persecution of Falun Gong on September 14, 2019. They were recorded by surveillance cameras and arrested five days later, on September 19.

The police ransacked Mr. Liu’s residences in Guangzhou City and Jiangmen City, as well as Ms. Chen’s residence in Guangzhou City. Their arrests were approved by the Liwan District Procuratorate in Guangzhou on October 25, 2019.

Both practitioners appeared in Liwan District Court in late December 2020. Mr. Liu was sentenced to four years with a 5,000-yuan fine. Ms. Chen was given three years with 3,000-yuan fine. Their appeals were rejected by the Guangzhou City Intermediate Court on February 22, 2021.

Prior to their latest persecution, both of them were arrested on May 7, 2010 for talking to people about Falun Gong. Mr. Liu was later sentenced by the Pengjiang District Court in Jiangmen to ten years and Ms. Chen to nine years.

Mr. Liu served time at the Sihui Prison in Guangdong Province and was released in April 2017. Ms. Chen was incarcerated at Guangdong Province Women’s Prison and released in February 2016.
