(Minghui.org) A Shantou City, Guangdong Province resident is facing prosecution for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Cai Yuchan, in her late 60s, was arrested on December 12, 2020, after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong at a supermarket. The police ransacked her home in the afternoon and confiscated her Falun Gong books.
The police didn’t inform Ms. Cai’s family of her arrest. Only when they reported her disappearance at the police station did they learn that their loved one had been taken to the Tuopu Detention Center.
The police submitted Ms. Cai’s case to the Longhu District Procuratorate on February 23, 2021, and her case was transferred to the Jinping District Procuratorate two days later. Her lawyer has reviewed her case at the procuratorate and also visited her at the detention center.
