Additional Persecution News from China – March 3, 2021 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Jifen and Ms. Sun Cezhen Sentenced

Ms. Sun Jifen and Ms. Sun Cezhen were arrested during the Mid-Autumn Festival 2019 and April 2020, respectively. They have been imprisoned since their arrest. Both of them were tried and sentenced to three years in prison.

2. [Neijiang City, Sichuan Province] Four Practitioners Face Trial

Ms. Fu Tianlu, Mr. Meng Kunlun, Yu Ping (gender unknown), and Ms. He Li will be tried in the Dongxing District Court on the morning of March 11, 2021. Ms. Fu, Mr. Meng, and Yu have been detained for four months. Ms. He has been detained for two months.

3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Shi Changqing Passed Away

Mr. Shi Changqing, 52, of Yi County, was imprisoned and tortured. He was released in 2006 and was dull-eyed as a result of torture. He suffered from high blood pressure and had a cerebral hemorrhage in 2018. He died on January 14, 2021.

Mr. Shi appealed in Beijing for the right to practice Falun Gong in December 2001. He was first detained in the Daxing Detention Center in Beijing, then in the Yi County Detention Center. He was subjected to two years of forced labor two months later and imprisoned in the Wangtun Forced Labor Camp in Jinzhou City.

He was arrested at home in the fall of 2003 by officers from the Yi County Domestic Security Division. He was held in the Yi County Detention Center and subjected to two years of forced labor two months later. He was imprisoned in the Wangtun Forced Labor Camp, where he was repeatedly tortured.

4. [Tonghua County, Jilin Province] Ms. Yuan Yuqin Harassed

Ms. Yuan Yuqin, 87, was harassed at home by a group of officers at noon on February 28, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books, two pictures of the founder of Falun Gong, a MP3 player, a cell phone, a printer, and other items. They ordered her to sign and press her fingerprints on several papers. She refused. They deceived her son into signing for her, and then forced her to press her fingerprints.

5. [Hengshui City, Hubei Province] Court Will Hear Ms. Cui Yongfen's Endowment Insurance Case

Ms. Cui Yongfen sued the Jing County Social Security Management Bureau to get back her endowment insurance while she was imprisoned between August 2014 to August 2018. The Jing County Court scheduled the hearing at 9:00 a.m. on March 11, 2021.

6. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Qin Songfa's Family Harassed

Mr. Qin Songfa's family was harassed at home by four officers from the Xiazhuang Town Police Station on March 1, 2021. The officers claimed it was a follow up visit. Mr. Qin clarified the truth to them. When a young officer tried to videotape, Mr. Qin’s wife stopped him.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Manhua and Ms. Gu Jihong Detained

Ms. Yang Manhua and Ms. Gu Jihong were arrested by officers from the Jingan Police Department and the Daning Road Police Station on February 25, 2021. They were subjected to criminal detention on the evening of February 25. They are being held at the Jingan District Detention Center.

8. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Shuchan Sentenced

Ms. Song Shuchan was arrested during the mass arrest conducted by the Pulandian Police Department and its police stations on July 11, 2020. She was sentenced to 18 months in prison.

9. [Zhongwei City, Ningxia Province] Seven Practitioners Still Detained, Two Under House Arrest

Nine practitioners were arrested on October 24, 2020, by officers from the Shapotou Police Department. Their cases were submitted to the Shapotou District Procuratorate at the end of January or early February 2021. Mr. Zheng Yongsin, Ms. Yang Jie, Ms. Huang Yuxia, Ms. Chang Yuer, and Ms. Wen Jing are being held in the Zhongwei City Detention Center. Ms. Jing Yuling is being held in the Yinchuan City Detention Center. Ms. Wang Shunqin is being held in the Shizhuishan City Detention Center. Ms. Wen Yuxiu and Ms. Zhang Yulian are under house arrest and monitored by officers from the Shapotou Police Department.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Wu Xuemi Detained

Wu Xuemei (gender unknown) has been held at the Pudong Detention Center since February 22, 2021.

Wu was arrested on November 21, 2020. Wu's home was ransacked. Police confiscated Falun Gong books and a picture of the founder of Falun Gong. Wu was held at the Liuwang Town Police Station.

11. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Bai Mei Detained

Ms. Bai Mei was detained in the Fuan Police Station on the morning of March 2, 2021, when she went there to ask for the return of her identification card.

She and her husband were arrested by officers from the Fuan Police Station in early 2020 after someone reported them when they talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers extorted about 2,000 yuan in cash from them and illegally seized their identification cards. The police station is looking for Ms. Bai's husband.

12. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhou Yunying Forced to Stay Away from Home

Ms. Zhou Yunying, 75, was reported when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong in January 2020. Officers from the Jinzhou Police Department and the Yongzheng Police Station ransacked her home and seized nine Falun Gong books, Falun Gong printouts, 25 audio players, and cash worth 2,000 yuan. She was forced to stay away from home to avoid further persecution.

13. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Chunmei Harassed

Ms. Wang Chunmei was harassed at home by three people from the Sishilibu Village Committee at noon on March 1, 2021. They forcibly photographed her and threatened to arrest her if she continued practicing Falun Gong.

14. [Linzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Guo Xianping Detained

Ms. Guo Xianping was arrested at home by officers from the Sanshibanyan Police Station at 11:00 p.m on December 9, 2020. She has since been held at the Anyang Detention Center.

15. [Shehong City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Luo Tongxiu Arrested

Ms. Luo Tongxiu was arrested at home by four officers from the police department and the Taihe Police Station on February 26, 2021. The officers ransacked her home and seized a copy of Zhuan Falun, seven audio players, and 18 amulets. She was taken to the police station and subjected to five days of detention. But she was released after 7:00 p.m. the same day because of her old age.

16. [Leiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Li Huizhen Detained

Ms. Li Huizhen was arrested and detained by officers from the Caizichi Police Station on the afternoon of March 2, 2021, after someone reported her.

17. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Geng Jianfen’s Home Ransacked

Ms. Geng Jianfen’s home was ransacked by officers from the Bincheng District Domestic Security Division on February 24, 2021 after a surveillance camera recorded her distributing Falun Gong flyers.
