(Minghui.org) Seven Falun Gong practitioners in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province were arrested on February 8, 2021. after the police tracked their locations through their cellphones.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Lei Meirong, Ms. Xu Guizhen, Ms. Zhang Liyu, Ms. Liu Yonghong, Ms. Lu Linxiang, Ms. Zhang Xiaoyun and Mr. Zhao Zhongfa were studying Falun Gong’s teachings at a private residence at around 3 p.m. on February 8, when officers of the Luojia Town Police Station broke in and arrested them. All of their homes were subsequently ransacked. The police confiscated seven printers from Ms. Xu.
Ms. Zhang Liyu, Ms. Zhang Xiaoyun and Mr. Zhao were given 15 days of detention at Nanchang City Lockup on February 10. The other four practitioners were put on criminal detention and taken to the Xinjian County No.1 Detention Center.
Ms. Liu, 71, is a retired employee of the Nanchang Steel Factory. She took up Falun Gong in 1998. The police had tried to force her to sign a statement to renounce Falun Gong following her latest arrest, but she refused to comply.
Ms. Xu, 70, also a retired factory worker, has been arrested multiple times and served four years in a labor camp in the past 22 years for upholding her faith.
