(Minghui.org) I am 69 years old. In my 24 years of Falun Dafa cultivation, under Master’s protection, I have come this far by memorizing and reciting the Fa.
Reciting the Fa
The first day I acquired a copy of Zhuan Falun, the main teachings of Falun Dafa, I finished the entire book. I thought it was exactly what I was looking for. From being very ill and near death, I regained my health and a new life. I felt that all my cells were alive again. This was in June 1996.
With such a great Dafa, I made up my mind to learn it. I began to copy Zhuan Falun and did so a few times. Later, I thought Dafa was so wonderful I needed to memorize it. So I began to memorize it paragraph by paragraph. The first time it took me a little over three months to memorize it. The second time, it took me two and a half months.
Back then, I owned a store. Whenever I had any free time, I studied the Fa. I wrote down Zhuan Falun from memory—it took seven to eight months. Doing that helped me to remember every word. When I went anywhere or was sitting on the bus, I could recite the Fa without making any mistakes.
Later, I memorized the Fa, from paragraph to paragraph to section by section. Then I went from reciting one chapter after another to covering the entire book.
Starting in 2014, I memorized Master’s new lectures as soon as they came out.
Reciting the Fa Helped Me in Many Ways
Master said,
“The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts.” (“Drive Out Interference,” Essentials for Further Advancement II)
Reciting the Fa helped me cultivate while running my business. At first, I got rid of my attachment to self-interest. Master said,
“Doing, but without pursuit—So constant, abiding in the Dao.”(“Abiding in the Dao,” Hong Yin, Translation Version A, )
Reciting the Fa helped me believe in Master and Dafa amidst the overwhelming lies fabricated by Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese leader.
Reciting the Fa helped me eliminate my fear when I was arrested in 2002. Empowered by our benevolent master, I didn’t give in, even after being deprived of sleep for eight days and seven nights. They attempted to send me to a forced labor camp.
Reciting the Fa helped me to look inward and get back on track after I made a significant mistake while detained in a brainwashing center in 2015. Under Master’s benevolent protection, I was able to eliminate my attachments and move forward.
Spies tricked me into clarifying the truth to them in order to persecute me. I treated each such event as an opportunity arranged by Master to help them learn the truth. Protected by Master, I dismantled the attempts to persecute me with my righteous thoughts.
Just as Master said,
“If you truly follow the righteous way in cultivation, nobody will dare to do something to you at will. Besides, you have the protection of my fashen, and you will not be in any danger.” (Lecture Three, Zhuan Falun)
Reciting the Fa has strengthened my faith in Master and Dafa. My fear has been eliminated layer by layer. With my negative thoughts subsiding, I could use my righteous thoughts to handle things. Especially last year, when I recited Zhuan Falun, I also recited “Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference.” I felt I had further improved, because I could do things by following what Master said:
“You should know that people outside of China don’t usually talk about other people behind their backs. Many people have universally recognized values, and simple and honest thinking and conduct, and try to be good people and treat others well. Normally they wouldn’t try to undermine others in order to advance themselves, the way some Chinese people do.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference,” Team Yellow translation)
“And however bad the interpersonal things that you encounter may be, you still have to look at them positively, like, “Oh, this can help me improve.” And when problems arise between you and others, it doesn’t matter who’s at fault: start by reflecting on your part in it.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference”, Team Yellow translation)
Reciting the Fa helped me eliminate my fear of talking to people about Falun Dafa. But I wasn’t able to make a breakthrough in truth-clarification. Luckily, I never slacked off in reciting the Fa and finally made a breakthrough. Nowadays when I clarify the truth about Dafa to awaken a person's conscience and help them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), my mindset is completely different than it was before. I have no fear and can speak well.
Hurrying to Save People Amidst the Pandemic
When I first heard of Covid-19, it was only a few days before the Chinese New Year. I thought, “It doesn’t matter if this is the final elimination or not, there shouldn’t be anything wrong with seizing the time to awaken the conscience of sentient beings.” I also recalled what Master said, “Word traveled fast, from person to person.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2019 New York Fa Conference,” Team Yellow translation)
After getting a consensus among fellow practitioners, we decided that after we finished clarifying the truth to people, we’d also ask them to share the two phrases “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good” with their relatives and friends to help spread the word. I’d like to give a few examples.
At the poultry market, a few police officers announced before 9 a.m. that the market was to close because of a contagious disease. Since they asked everybody to leave, I decided to quickly speak to the vendors.
I said: “This Wuhan virus is not a regular virus. It’s a cosmic change. It is just like how all of us have to go through birth, old age, illness, and death, and each dynasty had to go through formation-stasis-degeneration-destruction. The CCP is a product of Chinese history. Because the CCP is so corrupt, heaven will eliminate it. When we joined the CCP and its organizations, there were marks imprinted on us, so we must renounce our memberships in the CCP so gods will save us from being eliminated with it. One can also escape the calamity by remembering ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’”
I asked them to relay the message to their relatives and friends. Most of them agreed.
When I went to a vegetable stand, I spoke to a man in his 40s buying vegetables. I told him that, with the upcoming Chinese New Year, it was important for us to be safe. He agreed. Then I told him what I said to the others. I also said, “When you recite the phrases I mentioned, your whole body will be filled with righteous energy that can eliminate the virus. This is the only cure.”
Then I gave an example. “If two thousand people were admitted to a hospital all at once, there wouldn’t be enough equipment or nurses and doctors. If you didn’t have a personal connection, your treatment would very likely be delayed. The government couldn’t take care of you, either. Even people who work for the government fear the virus.
He said that made sense. I asked him to share it with his relatives and friends when he got home, so everyone in his village could have a chance to survive this calamity. Saving people will accumulate virtue, I told him, so he would have good fortune if he did. He said, “Sure.”
When I ran into local people, I’d tell them to let their neighbors, friends, and relatives know. I said: “If every one of us could tell our relatives and friends, a lot of people would survive. Whoever survives will have good fortune.” A lot of people acknowledged what I said.
Even though I couldn’t see the impact yet, I strongly believed it was Master and Dafa saving sentient beings. With the help of gods, the positive effect is definitely achievable.
I have a classmate from junior high school who worked for the government. Every time I saw him, I wanted to awaken his conscience. After the outbreak of the pandemic, I ran into him. I said that this virus was out of control. He said that even government experts couldn’t do anything about it.
I said: “The energy cultivated from practicing Falun Dafa can eliminate this virus. Moreover, this pandemic isn’t a common contagious disease. Whatever CCP organizations you joined, you must quit them sincerely to ensure your safety.”
When he agreed, I said: “You have to let your family, kids, friends, and relatives know. Please do remember to sincerely recite the two phrases. It’s very important. Falun Gong has been persecuted for more than 20 years. We were illegally sentenced and held in forced labor camps and prisons. Despite the risk of being arrested and persecuted, we’d been telling people to remember ‘Falun Dafa is good.’ Quitting the CCP and its organizations can ensure one’s safety so that you’ll survive the great elimination.” He thanked me.
When supermarket employees told me about their products, I took the opportunity to awaken their conscience. One time, I saw the supermarket security guard. After I clarified the facts to him, he agreed to quit the CCP and its affiliates.
Despite the lockdown, there were vegetable vendors who managed to set up their stands. So I went there. I said to a customer that this virus was a big deal and modern technology couldn’t do anything about it. He said the government couldn’t do much about it, either. Then I told him about how the energy generated from practicing Falun Dafa could kill the virus and about the two phrases to ensure one’s safety. I asked him if he had joined the CCP and advised him to quit so that he could avoid any calamity associated with the CCP. He said that Falun Dafa was wonderful and renounced his memberships in both the Youth League and Young Pioneers. When I told him to share the two phrases with the people he knew, he said he would.
After the lockdown, it was quiet everywhere, and I encountered very few people, so I decided to awaken the consciences of people in my own residential area. Before that, I was afraid of being reported. After I clarified the truth to a local resident who used to monitor me, she showed me around the township and showed me where I could get out during the lockdown. I passed the information on to fellow practitioners.

When there was interference, I left it up to Master. I wasn’t attached to anything and didn’t think about anything except what a practitioner is supposed to do. When I ran into interference, I empowered my righteous thoughts. The time was not extended to validate the old forces and the persecution. My life belongs to every sentient being who cherishes hope that practitioners will save them.
Practitioners are saved by Dafa, we are the ones taken care of by Master, and Master in charge of everything for us. Any other beings shouldn’t intervene, we don’t want to accept any other arrangements. Let’s save more sentient beings in the final leg of Fa-rectification.
