A Cab Driver’s Working Day During the CCP Pandemic
(Minghui.org) I am a cab driver. When the CCP virus (coronavirus) spread across China, few people hired me. One morning, I spent hours driving around, hoping for some business. But no one called. Right before I decided to go home, someone called for a ride.
A few minutes later, the customer called me back and said that he had a fever and wanted to go to a hospital. He asked me if I still wanted his business. At the time, most taxi drivers were too afraid to let anyone with a fever ride in their cabs. I hesitated for a second before telling him I would.
I was nervous on my way to pick him up: What if he had the virus? I kept reminding myself that, as a Dafa practitioner protected by Master Li, I should not be afraid of the virus. But what about my next customers? With these thoughts swirling around in my head, I arrived at the pick-up location.
The customer was indeed under the weather. He was coughing and had a fever. I began to worry. Then I thought, “This is an opportunity to awaken his conscience. I must tell him the facts about Falun Gong.”
He thanked me for taking him despite his condition. Without any hesitation, I said, “I would like to ask if you've ever heard about quitting the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations to be safe?”
When he said he hadn't, I told him, “Quitting the CCP severs your ties with it. Have you ever joined any of its organizations?” He said he had joined the Youth League as a young man. I said, “I can help you to quit with a pseudonym to protect your identity.” He agreed.
I also told him about Falun Gong and encouraged him to recite, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” I said, “Doing that will be good for your health.” I went on to tell him about the Tiananmen self-immolation hoax and Falun Gong’s growing popularity around the world. He was quite receptive.
Before he left, I gave him an amulet with the two Falun Dafa phrases on it. I suggested that he help spread the truth and encourage more people to quit the CCP. “Writing 'Quit the Party' on yuan bills is a good approach. It’s free and effortless. It will give you and others a bright future.” He said, “Thank you. I know.”
After he got out, I got another booking but first deep-cleaned my car as a precaution. I also thought that the best safety precaution was to let my customers know the truth about Falun Dafa and encourage them to repeat, “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.”
After a short chat with my next customer, I told him about the movement to quit the CCP and asked if he'd ever joined any communist organizations. He said he was a Party member. I said, “Nowadays people join the Party as a means to pursuing the good life. But no one believes the Party propaganda anymore, not even Party officials.” I explained how to quit and suggested a pseudonym for him. “You don’t need to do anything or pay anyone. But you will be blessed by higher beings and be immune to calamities and the pandemic,” I said. He took my advice and quit the CCP.
My next ride was a family of three. I asked Master to give me the wisdom to find the right approach to talk to them. After they got in, I said, “The government is closing highways and locking down villages, and officials are doing their best to keep us in the dark. When eight doctors began telling people what happened, the police tried to arrest them. The government said the virus was under control when it wasn't and not contagious when it was.” I also mentioned the Cultural Revolution and the Tiananmen self-immolation hoax as evidence of how bad the Party is. “As long as you agree in your heart to cut the ties with the Party organizations, you will be safe from big disasters.” They all agreed to quit.
Shortly after that, I succeeded in telling my fourth customer the facts and helped him quit the Party.
That was one of my happiest days. I clarified the truth to all my customers, and they cut their ties with the CCP. I wish I could do the same every day.
I did not plan to write about this until recently I had a dream that I was back in middle school. All my classmates were working on an exam, while I just stared at the paper and had no clue. Then a voice said, “Just do your best.” Suddenly, I knew how to answer the questions. After I woke up, I realized that Master had given me a hint to write about my experiences. I am very thankful for Master’s guidance.
