Falun Gong’s Truth-clarification Efforts Are Having an Impact in Society
Whenever she walks in downtown Sydney, Ms. Sophie York often sees Falun Gong practitioners clarifying the facts and distributing informational materials. She wondered why this group of kind and polite Chinese were so compassionate and persistent.
Due to her sense of responsibility and having a conscience, Ms. York naturally paid attention to why practitioners were there and what they wanted to tell people. She said, “My experience of Falun Gong practitioners is that they are good people – kind, polite and moral. They are also incredibly determined. It is really heartening to observe their relentless, diligent efforts.”
As she gained a deeper understanding of the facts, Ms. York began interacting with practitioners and participated in their activities. She said that practitioners’ efforts to raise awareness are having an impact. She said, “The work of the Falun Dafa practitioners is very impressive. Their dedication is commendable. They are having an impact. More and more people in the West are becoming aware of the atrocities being committed by the Chinese government. They are to be congratulated for preserving authentic Chinese culture, and for educating the wider public.”
Ms. York also said that through their efforts, Falun Gong practitioners deliver an important message to Western people, which is, “Chinese people and their culture are quite different to the political regime (Communism) presently prevailing in the People’s Republic of China. Chinese people are kind, gentle but passionate, well-mannered, truthful, diligent, witty and considerate. They are not ruthless, arrogant, humorless, deceitful, quality-lowering, controlling, and amoral – as the Communists are.”
Ms. Sophie York spoke during a rally in downtown Sydney on July 19, 2019. The event marked the 20th anniversary of Falun Gong practitioners’ efforts to end the persecution.
“I will never stop supporting you”
Ms. York expressed her admiration for Falun Gong practitioners’ relentless and diligent efforts to raise awareness of the persecution. She said, “Your determination is formidable – a real inspiration. I will never stop supporting you and your quest for humane treatment. You are at the receiving end of not only unfairness, but actual atrocities.”
She condemned the CCP’s forced organ harvesting atrocities and said, “The organ harvesting is disgusting butchery. It is a modern-day atrocity. The whole world ought to hear of it and condemn it! The perpetrators ought to be brought to justice in the International Criminal Court (ICC). Organs ought not be bought by any person, in any country. That would help stamp out the harvesting.”
Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance Helps Contribute to a Better World
Ms. York praised Falun Gong’s principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. She said, “These qualities are admirable traits to nurture in one’s character. They help contribute to a better world. They bring happiness, harmony and joy.”
“Together, all good people need to stand shoulder-to-shoulder against evil. More and more, we are discovering what is truly going on. The evil must end. We will all continue to pray and agitate for this. Thank you for never giving up!” she said.
