(Minghui.org) A man in Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, was sentenced to three and half years in prison in December 2020 for his faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Mr. Zhao Lin was arrested on April 7, 2020, in his cellphone repair store. Three police officers confiscated his computer, Falun Gong materials, and other personal belongings. That evening, the same officers went to Mr. Zhao’s home, broke open the lock to his storage room in the basement, and confiscated his computer, printer, and other items. Other officers returned the next morning, confiscated more items from his basement storage, and took them away in a van.
Mr. Zhao was first held in the Wuyilu Police Station and then quarantined in the Wei County Detention Center before being transferred to the Zhangjiakou Detention Center. The police threatened to arrest his family if they dared to seek his release.
Mr. Zhao appeared in the Qiaoxi Court twice, on October 13 and again on November 2, 2020. The judge sentenced him to three and a half years in December. It’s not clear if he has already been admitted to prison.
