Eliminate Our Egos to Save More People

Dec. 6, 2021 |   By a Falun Gong practitioner in China

(Minghui.org) After reading Master’s new teaching “Wake Up” for the first time, I felt sad. I thought that I had wasted a lot of time wondering what would happen to me in the future.

It took me a few minutes, but I did wake up. Before, I’d worried if I would ever reach consummation—I didn’t think about the beings who were unsaved—I was too selfish. No matter what happens in the future, I will now do whatever I should do.

There are also negative emotions. I think that every fluctuation in our emotions is a big test of how our hearts can be moved. Do you think about yourself, others, or the lives of sentient beings?

The Minghui website has since published many sharing articles about Master’s new scripture. I have felt what Master wanted to impart to us and Master’s assessment of the situation. Whoever does not reach the standard of consummation will be assigned the next group participating in the Fa-rectification of the human world.

If we still wonder if we can cultivate higher, the basis of our cultivation is wrong from the start. From the beginning to the end, one is thinking only about oneself. This is the most fundamental issue for a cultivator. I am not saying that the viewpoints of these articles are right or wrong. I feel that this is because Master gives his disciples a hint to let go of this most fundamental selfishness.

Master said,

“Also, don’t think, “Fa-rectification has come this far, so it looks like it will be over soon and we should start making plans for the future.” I can tell you that any attachment will bring on tremendous tribulations. You absolutely must not form any attachments! You should cultivate in an upright and dignified way, and handle well everything in front of you that you should do. If you’re to Consummate tomorrow, you still have to do well what you’re supposed to do today and in an orderly way. That’s because everything Dafa disciples are doing today is to be left for the people of the future, and this is the path of cultivation for the people of the future.” (Teachings Given on Lantern Festival Day, 2003)

If we don’t do well on one day, it’s useless to regret it at that moment. We should simply act quickly to save more people. We can work with others to develop a new project that fellow practitioners want to do.

During the chaos of the pandemic, I have seen many practitioners get stuck on the issues of the plague and vaccines. It’s not that these practitioners are not good but that their fear mentality has not gone away.

Master said, “So whether it is good things or bad things you run into, so long as you cultivate in Dafa, they are all positive, to be sure.” (Teachings at the 2005 Conference in San Francisco)

If you make a mistake, correct it and don’t sigh—it came from a human attachment. Fellow practitioners who do well, don’t feel complacent—that complacency arises from a human mentality, too.

In the future, you have to rely on yourself. In fact, it’s the ego that you can’t relinquish. Let go of that ego, move forward easily, and believe in Master and Dafa. Don’t just plan. Study the Fa more and go out to save more people.

Master said,

“In any case, a cultivator must look at things as a cultivator should and with the mind of a cultivator, and absolutely cannot look at things with the mind of an ordinary person. Nothing you encounter is simple, accidental, or an ordinary thing. It must have to do with your cultivation and your improvement. Because you are a cultivator, your life path has been changed, and you have been given a new cultivation path; nothing on your path happens by chance. But it will definitely appear to be by chance, because only in this delusion and in a state where you are the same as ordinary people can you show whether you are cultivating, whether you cultivate well, and whether you are able to pass test after test. That is cultivation, and that is righteous enlightenment!” (Teachings at the Conference in Los Angeles)
