(Minghui.org) In advance of Human Rights Day, December 10, Falun Dafa practitioners held activities at the Châtelet Metro Station and Place Saint-Michel in downtown Paris on the afternoons of November 28 and December 5, 2021. They demonstrated the exercises and exposed the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong.

Châtelet is the largest Metro Station in Paris, and many passersby stopped to watch as practitioners demonstrated the exercises. Some talked with practitioners and many people expressed their support and signed a petition calling for an end to the persecution.

Nadia a social event coordinator said, “What’s happening in the world in 2021, especially in China, is shocking and sad. We stand with those who are persecuted and those who don’t have freedom of speech. We support them as much we can. We know it’s hard to get information from China.

“Cultivation of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is an important practice,” Nadia said, “Every one of us can benefit from it in our daily lives. It’s exactly what we haven’t spent time on, but is an important basis for a good life and success.”

Local resident Romain said, “The Chinese Communist Party is a dictatorship. It also dictates the whole world in a disguised form. The whole world knows what it is, but takes no action. A single country can’t do too much to a superpower, so a global coalition is needed to push certain things, and let leaders of different countries take action.” Romain encouraged practitioners and said, “Keep up with your work! Continue to fight!”

Sebastian, a German accountant who works in Paris, said that the persecution was horrible. “The Chinese Communist Party is trying to eliminate all ideas different from its own. It’s important for everyone to have freedom of speech and belief.” Sebastian said he was born in communist East Germany, and knows how much people suffered under communism. “They eventually rejected communism, and brought the Berlin Wall down,” he said. He hopes that practitioners will continue their efforts to bring the truth to more people.

Background: What is Falun Dafa?

Falun Dafa (also known as Falun Gong) was first introduced to the public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in Changchun, China in 1992. The spiritual discipline is now practiced in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. Millions of people who have embraced the teachings, which are based on the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance, and learned the five gentle exercises, have experienced uplifted health and well-being.

Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline's growing popularity as a threat to the CCP's atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, issued an order to ban the practice.

Minghui.org has confirmed the deaths of thousands of practitioners as a result of the persecution over the past 22 years. The actual number is believed to be much higher. More have been imprisoned and tortured for their faith.

There is concrete evidence that the CCP sanctions the harvesting of organs from detained practitioners, who are murdered to supply the organ transplant industry.

Under Jiang's personal direction, the CCP established the 610 Office, an extralegal security organization with the power to override the police and judicial systems and whose sole function is to carry out the persecution of Falun Dafa.
