(Minghui.org) Four residents in Xinkaisi Village, Suining City, Sichuan Province were arrested after being reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and distributing Falun Gong information materials on November 24, 2021.

The police officers ransacked their homes and attempted to force them to renounce their shared faith. Two practitioners were released on the same day, and another two were held for administration detention.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Gong Zhijun

Ms. Gong Zhijun, 76, was arrested on her way back home at around 10 a.m. Police officers ransacked Ms. Gong’s residence and confiscated two audio players and one picture of Falun Gong’s founder.

The officer who interrogated Ms. Gong told her that she was reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials.

The officer ordered her to sign a statement renouncing her faith. Ms. Gong replied, “I regained my health by practicing Falun Gong. If I stop practicing it, all my diseases might come back. It is not good for me. If I sign the statement, it will become evidence of you participating in the persecution, and this would not be good for you.”

Ms. Gong’s grandson was summoned to the police station in the afternoon to pick her up, but not before he signed a list of items confiscated from her.

Ms. Zhang Suying

Ms. Zhang Suying was arrested along with Ms. Gong while on her way home. The police confiscated her two Falun Gong books.

During the interrogation, a police officer told Ms. Zhang that she had been reported by a meat vendor who accepted one piece of Falun Gong informational materials from her on October 12.

The police officer also ordered Ms. Zhang to sign a statement renouncing Falun Gong. She said she was illiterate and didn’t know how to write her name. The police then had her place her fingerprints on the statement. Ms. Zhang was released at around 2 p.m.

Ms. Xiong Jinhua

Ms. Xiong Jinhua, 65, was arrested at home in the afternoon. Her two Falun Gong books and one photo of Falun Gong’s founder were confiscated.

While interrogating her, the police revealed that she had been recorded by a surveillance camera while distributing Falun Gong information materials at the Guibao District School a few days prior. She was reported to the police by a school teacher.

Ms. Xiong explained to the police how great Falun Gong is and how the persecution of Falun Gong lacked legal basis. She refused to sign the statement renouncing her faith and was then given ten days of administration detention at the Yongxing Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Hongju

Ms. Zhang Hongju, in her 60s, was arrested at her street vegetable stand and taken to the Xiningxiang Police Station. The police searched her home, but didn’t find any materials related to Falun Gong.

The police told her that she had been reported for distributing Falun Gong informational materials at nearby Fuqiao Town and Longfenggu Town, after being recorded by surveillance cameras.

“Are you admitting your wrongdoing?” the police asked her.

“I’m innocent. I was just telling people the facts.” Ms. Zhang said. She was held at the police station for a few more hours, then taken to the Yongxing Detention Center in the afternoon. She wasn’t released until seven days later.
