The Young Man Kept Saying, “I know, I know.”

(Minghui.org) My daughter came back home appearing to be in a big rush one day in May 2021. She told me sounding in panic, “Hurry up and go to the community office. The office director just called me.” She then told me how the director threatened her. She said that I must go, otherwise she would be implicated; they would stop her and her husband’s pension.

My Master Had the Final Say When Threatened by an Official

The next day, my daughter and I went to the community office. The director asked my name and said, “It took me more than two hours to find your daughter’s phone number on the Internet, and then we found the community you live in. You distributed Falun Gong informational materials six years ago, exchanged and used paper money with Falun Gong information on them, and you were given one year of forced labor in 2003. I know all about it. As long as you write a statement promising that you will not practice Falun Gong anymore, we will leave you alone. You can do the exercises at home from now on, and we will not bother you as long as you don’t go out to distribute Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) brochures.”

Seeing that I was not moved, she continued, “If you don’t write it, we will stop your subsistence allowance, pension, and take back the public housing you are renting, and the children in your family will not be allowed to attend school. If I send your information to the police station. and the 610 Office using my cell phone right now, someone will come soon to arrest you. Considering your old age, I will let you go home as soon as you finish writing the statement.” While she was talking, I thought in mind, “What you say does not count. My Master has the final say.”

Pressured to Give up Falun Dafa

The community office director then repeated the evil Party’s slandering propaganda. I told her, “Falun Gong is righteous, and is a cultivation practice of high virtue. Falun Gong teaches people to be good and asks them to live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.” 

Hearing my words, she jumped up and yelled, “I have told you so much for your own good. You need to think about your family...” At that moment, she received several phone calls, after which she left in a hurry. Another office personnel and my daughter stayed in the office, and they kept pressuring me to write the statement.

I resisted their pressure. The community director called the office after a while and said that I could go home, and she would contact me later. I then left the office without writing anything.

Looking Within

After I got home, I looked inside for the reason why this had happened. I found that I did not read the Fa and send righteous thought diligently. My son and daughter-in-law had arguments recently, and my daughter-in-law did not go to work in the shop and my son called me for help. I could not let go of my attachment to family affection and spent all my time helping him. I also heard from fellow practitioners that the community officers were harassing fellow practitioners with the excuse of the so-called “zero out” campaign. I thought that my name was on their list and they might come to me too. I was concerned, and did not deny the old forces’ arrangement. My fear attracted the evil persecution.

My daughter came back home with a heavy mind a month later. She told me that the community director called her again and said that they were coming to my home that day. My daughter asked me to hide my Falun Gong materials, and asked me to cooperate with the director. She said that her family would be implicated otherwise, and her husband’s pension would be stopped. She complained that I had caused her problems, and told me to be responsible to her family. She said that she would sever the mother-daughter relationship if I refused to cooperate with the director.

Severing Attachment to Children

I said, “She fooled you. You are taking them too seriously.” My daughter said, “The Communist Party (CCP) is capable of doing any evil.” She got angrier as she talked, and said, “Let’s sever our mother-daughter relationship!” I said, “If it relieves your pressure, I agree.” She then asked me to write two copies of the statement to sever our relationship, and say that I would be responsible for the losses to my family. She signed the two copies, took one with her and left, being rather angry. Before she left, she said, “The personnel from the police station, the 610 Office and the community office are coming. You figure out what to do by yourself.” I thought that what was happening must be for me to discard my attachment to my children.

Cleaning the Environment of Evil by Sending Righteous Thoughts

After my daughter left, I read the Fa for a while. However, I felt my mind was still disturbed. I then sent righteous thought to eliminate any evil and rotten demons that damage Dafa. I also made sure to stop them from demanding the sentient beings to commit crimes against Dafa. I told myself that those who were coming to my home, were coming for the truth about Falun Gong.

Situation Changes for the Better

My phone rang after 4 p.m. They called and asked my address; I told them my building number and my room number. Two young men came a few minutes later. As soon as they arrived they claimed, “We are here just following the procedure to see if you still practice Falun Gong.” I invited them in, offered them chairs and wanted to bring them some water.

One of the them stopped me from getting water, and said that they would leave in a few minutes. Another younger man, with a pen and a notebook in hand, made sure of the correct spelling of my name and asked, “What is your education level? Do you distribute Dafa related brochures? Do you still practice Falun Gong?” I did not answer him immediately.

I thought for a few minutes, and said, “The constitution guarantees the freedom of belief. Practicing Falun Gong is completely legal. Practicing Falun Gong improves people’s physical health and moral state. It benefits the people and the country. I will not sign anything you are here for. My not cooperating with you is to prevent you from committing crimes against Dafa, which is for your own benefit.” The young man said, “I know, I know. I will not ask you to sign anything.”

I then told them, “Falun Gong practitioners follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be good people.” The young man said again, “I know, I know; all Falun Gong practitioners are good people.”

I said again, “Do you know that a person has the life-long responsibilities for the cases he handled now?” He said repeatedly, “I know, I know.” I said, “You are young and kind, you should consider to secure a good future for yourself!” He said, “I know, I know.”

Then, he stood up and wanted to leave. I said to him, “Please remember ‘Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ You will then have a bright future.” When leaving my home, he said, “OK, OK”.

July arrived and it was the time for me to renew the subsistence allowance again. I was somewhat worried. One day while I was practicing the exercises, a thought crossed my mind, “Let the sun shine on the table.” Another time while I was practicing the exercises, a thought again appeared in my mind, “It is as if nothing had happened.” The community office took back our subsistence allowance certificates for qualification verification in May. While I went to the office for the certificate at the end of July, a thought came to my mind, “I will act with dignity!”

I connected the three thoughts together and came to understand that Master was hinting that I hold righteous thought, and that Master is always by my side to protect me. I then went to the community office, acting with dignity, and got back my subsistence allowance certificate. I received my renewed subsistence allowance without any difficulties. It was really “Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)
