(Minghui.org) Ms. Pan, 68, moved to a beautiful town in Europe in 1993. In May 1998, a friend who recently returned from China told Ms. Pan about Falun Dafa and she soon started practicing.
Ms. Pan still lives in that small town. Many Chinese people have since moved there and most local residents know her. She tells people about Falun Dafa and the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution, and she’s helped many Chinese quit their memberships in the Party and its affiliated organizations.
Among the Chinese that Ms. Pan helped to quit the CCP, some believe in other religions, others are studying for degrees, and some are new immigrants from China. When she first tried to clarify the truth to them, some refused to listen while others argued. Gradually they were all moved by Ms. Pan’s peaceful demeanor and her kindness. Many later said they felt fortunate to know Ms. Pan.
Becoming Healthy After Practicing Falun Gong
When Ms. Pan started practicing in 1998, she had an extraordinary experience, “Instead of feeling heavy, it felt like my arms were floating when I did the exercises. I was amazed and knew Falun Dafa was special. I coughed for three months, and the phlegm was green. But from reading Zhuan Falun I knew that Master had cleansed my body so I wasn’t worried. I coughed at night but I didn’t cough during the day, so it didn’t affect my work.”
Most of the residents in her building were Chinese. Some of them told her that although she seemed healthy, her coughing at night indicated she was sick.
Ms. Pan explained that she practiced Falun Dafa and the founder, Master Li, was cleansing her body. Her neighbors observed that she became healthy and she was sincere and enthusiastic. They were happy to be friends with her.
Clarifying the Truth to Chinese Residents
In July 1999, however, this peaceful and beneficial practice began to be persecuted in China. The CCP controls the Chinese media and launched a campaign on every outlet to slander those who follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Millions of people who were not familiar with the spiritual practice were misled.
Ms. Pan recalled, “When the persecution began, because they listened to the CCP’s propaganda, my neighbors refused to believe me when I told them about the persecution. Some argued with me. I felt bad because they would not listen to me.”
But most local Chinese knew that Ms. Pan was kind and they liked her. “Because they knew me well, they still often came to see me. After we chatted I gave them more details about the CCP’s persecution.”
She said, “I told them honestly: No matter what happens I will continue to practice Falun Dafa. I study the Fa and I also go to various places to clarify the truth. They began saying that practitioners don’t do bad things—they only study the Fa every day.”
Ms. Pan said that regardless of their attitude, she continued socializing with her neighbors and explaining about the persecution. When the "Quit the CCP" movement began, she explained the meaning of withdrawing from the CCP, the Communist Youth League, and Young Pioneers. Some quit their memberships in the Party and even brought other people to listen to her explain, while others told their friends. One of Ms. Pan’s Christian friends is a typical example.
A Christian Friend Renounces the CCP
Ms. Pan has been friends with a Christian woman for more than 20 years. “We met at a language class. I clarified the truth to her on the way home. She didn’t accept it at first. I gave her The Epoch Times. Later I could sense her change. She even gave the newspaper to her friends to read.”
Her friend asked her who funded the newspaper. Her friend was misled by the CCP’s propaganda that Falun Dafa received overseas money.
Ms. Pan explained that practitioners paid for the newspaper themselves so that people could know the truth. They worked on the paper as volunteers and received no money. Her friend understood.
When Ms. Pan told her friend about the CCP’s organ harvesting from living Falun Dafa practitioners, her friend did not believe it at first: “That’s impossible. If you say some doctors are bad, I believe you. But I don’t believe this organ harvesting is being done on such a large scale.”
One day they chatted about the topic again, her friend asked her to give her some information to back up what she said. Ms. Pan gave her a copy of the independent investigation report from Canada’s David Matas and David Kilgour. She also gave her other informational materials.
When Ms. Pan explained the importance of quitting the CCP, her friend said she was taken care of by God and it didn’t matter whether she quit or not. Ms. Pan said that millions of Chinese already had quit the CCP organizations to keep from being implicated when the Party has to answer for its crimes.
Her friend understood why people withdraw and agreed to quit the Communist Young Pioneers.
After quitting, her friend was happy and said she played truth-clarification videos to her relatives in China on her iPad. She also told her classmates and friends about the importance of quitting the Party.
Now her friend watches NTDTV every day and tells others what she sees.
Recent Chinese Immigrant Quits the CCP
Ms. Pan met a recent Chinese immigrant one day. “When she came to my home, I talked about the importance of withdrawing from the CCP. She was evasive and said it had nothing to do with her.”
The lady observed that Ms. Pan was easygoing, sincere, and never gossiped. She said she felt at ease when she was with Ms. Pan.
A few days later Ms. Pan mentioned quitting again. This time the lady asked how she could do it. Ms. Pan turned on her computer and helped her fill out the online form so she could withdraw from the Young Pioneers.
Ms. Pan pointed at the confirmation number on the website and said, “This is your withdrawal confirmation number.”
The lady said, “I want to take a photo of it. I’m very serious about quitting.” She took a photo and thanked Ms. Pan for helping her.
