(Minghui.org) In the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline, even older practitioners aren’t spared by the Chinese communist regime. In the past year, at least six senior practitioners have been targeted for persecution in Yanji City, Jilin Province.
Since July 2020, Mr. Jin Dejun, who has served a nine-year term for his faith, has had his pension suspended.
Mr. Piao Guangxun, 68, was harassed by the police on February 6, 2021. He was arrested in late February and has been held incommunicado since.
Ms. Zhu Xiyu, nearly 70, has been arrested over 30 times in the past two decades. She was released after serving four years on October 17, 2020, only to be arrested again in March 2021. Her pension was also suspended. It’s reported that she has been taken back to prison, but the details aren’t clear.
Mr. Li Lianjie was arrested around July 2021 and it’s reported that he has been sentenced to three years.
Ms. Li Zhiru, in her late 70s, was arrested around August 13, 2021, after being deceived into going to the hospital for a physical examination. It’s reported that she has been sentenced to two years and is now held in the Yanji City Detention Center.
Ms. An Fuzi, an 82-year-old retired professor, was arrested in August 2021 and held in the Yanji City Detention Center. She is facing a renewed sentence from her arrest five years ago.
