(Minghui.org) When my daughter was in kindergarten, she studied the Fa with me and helped me to pass out truth-clarification fliers. She clarified the truth to her classmates and could point out where improvements could be made from the perspective of the Fa. However, my husband is opposed to my cultivation, so my daughter didn’t have a good environment to continue hers.
After she entered middle school, she didn’t listen to or study the Fa anymore. There was one time after she graduated from middle school where we read Zhuan Falun after I insisted, and her situation improved a lot. But she stopped studying the Fa again in high school because she was busy with school work. We didn’t even have time to talk. She ate snacks when she felt tired or stressed and gained a lot of weight, which made her depressed. Her grades deteriorated in her sophomore year.
I noticed she was reading anime novels online. I had a dream where I saw that these novels had obscene content. I reminded her to stop reading them. She didn’t agree nor object verbally. She also bought books and said they were limited edition. I was at a loss and didn’t know what to do.
During the second semester of her sophomore year, she suddenly experienced severe emotional problems. The symptoms included always wanting to cry, very poor memory, and severe headaches.
I took her to see a psychiatrist friend of mine where she was diagnosed with depression and was prescribed anti-depressants. I, myself, am a medical doctor. I doubted that it was truly depression. After she took the pills, her emotional problem got more severe. I took her to another psychiatrist who said she had anxiety and changed her medications, but they didn’t help either. Giving up on psychiatrists, I taught myself traditional herbal medicine and mixed some herbs for her. They released some symptoms but still couldn’t keep her emotionally stable.
I attempted to have her study the Fa, but she strongly resisted. I thought my attachments could be to blame and I had to look within.
One day, the mother of one of my patients told me that her daughter had psychological problems after reading a book entitled Pretend to Be a Scumbag because the book was about homosexual love among students. I suddenly realized that my daughter was mentally poisoned and it was not something normal medicine could treat.
I scanned through the collection of anime novels on her bookshelf and found that many of them contained obscene content. I was so negligent! My child has such a big problem, but I didn’t even know it!
Looking inward, I realized I still watched romance TV series and needed to eliminate lust in my environment. These bad substances affected me and my child. My daughter’s problem is a manifestation of my incorrect state. I now understand that some incorrect states cannot be solved by medicine at all, and mental illnesses need to be treated by raising one’s morals, and obtaining the Fa is the way to return to one’s original, true self.
Fellow practitioners: I hope you will take good care of the young Dafa disciples around you, and not be careless. They act as mirrors for ourselves. If we are not diligent, it will affect them, and demons will take advantage of the loopholes.
Recently, I have been sending righteous thoughts intensively because I have to turn bad things into good things, completely eliminate the interference, and guide my child back to Dafa.
