Additional Persecution News from China – October 4, 2021 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 22 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Hong Youfeng Taken to Brainwashing Center

1. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Hong Youfeng Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Hong Youfeng from Funing County was arrested by nine people in plainclothes, including members of the provincial Inspection Team, while she went grocery shopping on September 18, 2021. They took the keys to her house. They later went to her daughter Ms. Li Yali’s home, ransacked the place, and confiscated her Falun Gong books and printed materials. Ms. Hong was taken to a brainwashing center.

Five days later, these people went to Ms. Li’s home again and confiscated some paper bills with information about Falun Gong written on them.

2. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Zhu Hongwen Arrested

Mr. Zhu Hongwen from Zunhua City was arrested and taken to the Zunhua Detention Center on September 2, 2021. The police ransacked his home and confiscated eight Falun Dafa books, three photos of Falun Gong’s founder, two MP3 players, and many small cards. They also demanded 200 yuan as living expenses.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Manzhen and Her Sister Wu Meidi Arrested

Ms. Wu Manzhen, 76, and her sister Wu Meidi, 74, were arrested by Zhou Yuan, deputy head of the Qingshan District Domestic Security Division, officers from the Yejin Street Police Station in Qingshan District, and officers from the Yang Yuan Police Station in Wuchang District on March 29, 2021. The two practitioners were taken to the Yejin Street Police Station.

Later, Ms. Wu Manzhen was taken to the Nanhu Brainwashing Center in the Wuchang District, where she was forced to watch propaganda videos which slandered Falun Gong. If she did not do as ordered, officers would force her to stand for long periods of time, deprive her of sleep, and give her very little food. She was released on April 29.

Ms. Wu Meidi was taken to the Weishi Hotel affiliated with the Wuhan Iron and Steel Design and Research Institute for one month. She was released on April 29.

4. [Beijing] Eight Practitioners Monitored

Eight practitioners from Nankou Town, Changping District, were monitored by people from the 610 Office, local communities, and residential communities. Five of the eight practitioners are: Mr. Hou Guoning, Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, Ms. Xiao Yafen, Mr. Zhang Qingshan, and Ms. Fan Yuhuan.

Mr. Hou’s home was monitored 14 hours a day, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

5. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Xiuying and Ms. Wang Shaoying Harassed

Ms. Guo Xiuying from Lanshan District was harassed at noon on September 30, 2021. Her Falun Dafa books and several copies of Master Li’s (founder of Falun Dafa) recent writings were confiscated.

Ms. Wang Shaoying’s home was ransacked by people from the Domestic Security Division, police station, the Dongguan Community Management Office, and the sub-district administration office at 2 p.m. on September 30. She was taken to the police station and returned home after 5 p.m.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Feng Aixiang’s Home Ransacked

Four officers from the Zhuliang Town Police Station in Qingzhou City ransacked Ms. Feng Aixiang’s home in Zhengjia Village on September 19, 2021.

7. [Huili City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Wu Chenghua Harassed

Party secretary Guo Wengui and team leader Huang Yong of Sanyuan Village, Chengbei Community, went to Mr. Wu Chenghua’s home and pressured him to sign paperwork on September 28, 2021. Mr. Wu refused. Secretary Guo said that Mr. Wu could not post or distribute Falun Gong materials in the village that he was in charge of, but he would not care whether Mr. Wu distributed materials elsewhere.

8. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Cases of Three Practitioners Turned Over to Procuratorate

Officers from the Liuqing Street Police Station, Beicheng New Area, called Mr. Zu Linlin and harassed him on September 27, 2021.

Mr. Zu, his wife Ms. Guo Lingfang, and his mother Ms. Liu Jianhua were arrested at home by officers from the police station in February 2020. Their cases were turned over to the Lanshan District Procuratorate.

9. [Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhang Yulan Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhang Yulan from the Taigu Cotton Mill was recently arrested and taken to the Xianyang Village Brainwashing Center in Beiguang Township, Taigu District.

10. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Yuemei Harassed

Three people, including officer Jiang Yanqing from the Datian Town Police Station, drove to Ms. Zhang Yuemei’s home in Qiegezhuang Village, Jiudian Town, on the morning of September 28, 2021. They also called her son to return home from work. They told him to talk his mother into signing some paperwork. Ms. Zhang refused to sign anything.
