Additional Persecution News from China – October 7, 2021 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Yan Sentenced to Four Years and Ten Months in Prison

1. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Yan Sentenced to Four Years and Ten Months in Prison

Ms. Ma Yan from the Lushunkou District was sentenced to four years and ten months in prison by the Ganjingzi Court on June 3, 2021. She appealed to the Dalian Intermediate Court. Her family was recently informed that the original verdict was upheld in the intermediate court. 

2. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Liu Kangfu Missing for Over a Year

Liu Kangfu (gender unknown) has not been seen or heard from since March 2020. It is unknown where Liu is.

3. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhou Meijuan Under Surveillance

Ms. Zhou Meijuan is a teacher and lives in Xinyuan Community, Xinyuan Road, Anting Town, Jiading District. Before the China National Day around October 1, she realized some people at the community gate were monitoring her as she went in or out. When she rode her electric bike to go out, some people dressed like courier boys rode in front of, or behind her, and followed her.

4. [Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia] Nine Practitioners Harassed

Officers from the Tiexi Police Station and the Tiedong Police Station harassed nine practitioners from the end of August to early September 2021. The practitioners are Wang Guihua, Ma Guilan, Wang Shuyun, Hua Guiyun, Zhang Xiangyun, Lian Xiuyun, Chen Xiuying, Jiang Xiuzhen, and Liang (first name unknown).

5. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Fan Wei Arrested and Detained

Mr. Fanwei, 63, was arrested by officers from the Caibei Police Station in Xihu District in August 2021. He is currently detained in the Benxi City Detention Center. 

6. [Beijing] Four Practitioners Arrested

Police officers from the Tongzhou District arrested four practitioners. Ms. Cui Xiuling was arrested in March 2021; Li Xilan (gender unknown), in May 2021; Xiao (first name and gender unknown), in June 2021; and Ms. Qi Huimin, at the end of June 2021. Their cases will soon be submitted to the Tongzhou District Court. 

7. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Shujun Harassed

Ms. Chen Shujun’s son received a call from the Pingdu City Political and Legal Affairs Committee on the morning of September 27, 2021. Afterward some people went to his workplace. Accompanied by the leaders in his workplace, they came to talk to Ms. Chen’s son. They pressured him to make his mother sign a guarantee statement as soon as possible. 

8. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Sutong Harassed

Mr. Wang Sutong’s daughter received a call from the Chengxi Police Station in Puning City on the evening of October 5, 2021. She was asked where her father was and was told that his household registration was canceled. 

Because he persisted in practicing Falun Gong, Mr. Wang has been arrested, detained, and had his home raided for more than 20 years. He had to leave home to avoid the persecution. Because of the CCP’s harassment Mr. Wang’s daughter has experienced unnecessary difficulties from the time she was teenager. 

9. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Guifen Harassed

Ms. Chen Guifen was harassed at home by three officers from the Fanjiang Police Station including Li Daoyin around 8 p.m., on September 28, 2021. The officers confiscated the photo of Falun Gong’s founder and some other materials. They pressured her to sign a paper and threatened to send her to a detention house if she refused. 

Ms. Chen was taken to the police station by three officers on September 30, 2021. Four people from the Pengzhou Brainwashing Center including Tian Shunhong came to the police station and pressured her to sign a guarantee statement. Ms. Chen clarified the truth to them. Her words were recorded by a police officer and she was told to sign it by pressing her fingerprint on it. 

10. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Tian Yunbo, Ms. Zhang Xiaohua, and her husband Mr. Lu Jin went to visit an elderly practitioner in Xingyunyuan Community in Guandu District around 3 p.m., on August 16, 2021. Two other elderly practitioners also went there. The officers from the Guandu District Police Department and the Yiliu Police Station, and the local community staff members, broke into the elderly practitioner’s home. Five practitioners were taken to the Yiliu Police Station. Ms. Zhang Xiaohua’s home was ransacked. 

Mr. Tian Yunbo and Ms. Zhang Xiaohua were placed in criminal detention on August 17, 2021. Mr. Tian is currently detained in the Guandu District Detention Center. Ms. Zhang is detained in the Kunming City Detention Center. Her husband Mr. Lu Jin was detained for 10 days and is now back home.

11. [Xinyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Gao Yufang Arrested 

Ms. Gao Yufang was arrested by six officers from Huangchuan County Domestic Security Division around 5 p.m., on September 14, 2021, when she was at the Unicom lobby to pay the phone bill. She was taken to the Domestic Security Division. The police went to her home and opened the door with the key they confiscated from her. They ransacked her home while no one was present. Ms. Gao lives alone. They confiscated many Falun Gong books, media players and other personal belongings. They also tore off the couplet on the door. Ms. Gao was released around 9 p.m. that evening.
