(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 40 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yan Xiuhong Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Yan Xiuhong, 50, from Guangzong County, was tried by the Guangzong County Court on August 20, 2021. He was sentenced to four years and six months in prison on September 7. His family hired a lawyer to appeal the sentence. Mr. Yan has been hospitalized in the No. 2 Xingtai City Hospital for over 10 days, and the authorities prevented his family and lawyer from visiting him.

Armed police led by Zhang Mengkan, head of the Guangzong County Domestic Security Division, broke into Mr. Yan’s home on August 24, 2017, and attempted to arrest him, but did not succeed. Mr. Yan left home and became displaced. On October 29, 2020, Zhang and Wei County police located the place where Mr. Yan lived. They arrested him and beat him. He was officially placed under arrest by the procuratorate on November 12, 2020. His case was brought to court on December 24.

2. [Xichang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wu Cailian Harassed

On September 17, 2021, several people who claimed to be from provincial organizations went to Ms. Wu Cailian’s home. One of them flashed his ID card in front of Ms. Wu’s family. As soon as they saw Ms. Wu, they wanted to photograph her. She stopped them but was not sure whether the photos were deleted. They told Ms. Wu that if she wanted to practice Falun Gong, she would have to do it at home. They also told her family that she was a political prisoner and asked the family for the rental property manager’s phone number.

After these people left Ms. Wu’s husband could not calm down and could not eat for two days. She was not allowed to go out.

3. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Wulian Expelled

Mr. Wang Wulian did not want to take the vaccine against his will, so he was expelled from work on September 1, 2021, by the Chenzhou branch of Foshan Bomei Property Services Co., Ltd. The company terminated his labor contract with its parent company Midea Group Co., Ltd.

4. [Dazhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Hu Yurong’s Whereabouts Unknown; Her Father Passes Away

Ms. Hu Yurong from Baocheng Town, Qu County, was arrested last year, and her whereabouts are still unknown. Her family members asked about her at the Baocheng Police Station through various channels and the Qu County Domestic Security Division, but they did not reveal her whereabouts. Her family does not know whether she is still alive or dead.

Ms. Hu’s father asked CCP officials on numerous occasions, who dodged his question. Her father passed away in grief in July 2021. Her mother is saddened by the family’s plight, and still hopes her daughter will return home.

5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Lingyan Arrested

Ms. Liu Lingyan, about 60, was reported to the police for talking to a middle-aged woman about Falun Gong on September 17, 2021. She was arrested by officers from the Taiping Street Police Station, Daowai District. It was reported that she was taken into custody.

6. [Chengde County, Hebei Province] Mr. Hu Weixin Sentenced to Prison

Officers from the Chengde County Domestic Security Division suspected that 57-year-old Mr. Hu Wei posted Falun Gong materials. They went to his home to arrest him on May 7, 2021. When Mr. Hu did not cooperate with the officers, the county police department accused him of assaulting the police. He was recently sentenced to six months in prison by the Chengde County Court.

7. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Harassed

Security official Lin Guofu and others from Shihe Village, Shihe Sub-district, Jinpu New Area, went to Ms. Sun Hongxiang’s home and harassed her on September 14, 2021. They also went to the homes of Ms. Tang Jinfeng and Ms. Yu Shuxian on September 15 and pressured them to sign statements renouncing Falun Gong. The practitioners said that doing Falun Gong exercises kept them healthy, and they refused to sign.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Shan Shan Harassed for a Long Time

Officers Wang Yuehang and Wang Qingbao from the Qinghe Police Station repeatedly went to Ms. Shan Shan’s home and harassed her. She refused to open the door. They brought along residential officer Zhang to knock on her door.

On the morning of September 17, 2021, they went to Ms. Shan’s home wearing police uniforms and cameras. They kept a high profile in the neighborhood and ordered Ms. Shan’s neighbors to intercept her mother.

When Ms. Shan’s mother was heading home the three officers stopped and surrounded her near the fence to the community. They questioned her about Ms. Shan. They also said in front of the neighbors that Ms. Shan’s entire family did not cooperate with the authorities. They pressured Ms. Shan’s elderly mother to publicly express her position on Falun Gong.

9. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Cases Against Four Practitioners Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Chen Xitao, Mr. Guo Libin, and Ms. Fu Zhaocui from Hailin City, and Ms. Xu Guozhen from Ning’an City were arrested. Their cases were turned over to the Hailin Procuratorate on June 10, 2021.

10. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Hui and Ms. Fu Lihong Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Hu Hui was sentenced to two years in prison and fined 3,000 yuan. Her family is preparing an appeal. At the same time, Mr. Guo Jinzhao was sentenced to one year in prison with one-year probation and fined 2,000 yuan. Ms. Fu Lihong was sentenced to one year in prison with one-year-and-six-month probation, and fined 2,000 yuan.

11. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Guibo Prevented from Going Out

Ms. Wang Guibo was heading to her vegetable field at 9 a.m. on September 9, 2021. On her way there, she ran into a high school student and told him the truth about Falun Gong. The student led officers from the police department to look for her. They found out her home address. The officers talked to Ms. Wang’s husband and son and threatened to prevent her grandson from going to kindergarten. The family put pressure on her and changed all the locks on the house. Ms. Wang has been locked inside her home and cannot go out.

12. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Wang Peixin, Wang Shuyun, and Zhao (their genders are unknown) were arrested by officers from the Zhenjiao Police Station, Qianguo County, on the afternoon of August 19, 2021. The homes of Wang Peixin and Zhao were ransacked and Wang Peixin’s garage was also searched. Wang Shuyun is from out of town, and lives in a relative’s home; further details are not available.

The three practitioners are being held in the Shanyou Detention Center.

13. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

On the morning of September 6, 2021 officers from the Qianjin Police Station waited under the building where Ms. Li Liying lived. They arrested her after she took her two children to kindergarten. She was taken to the police station and harassed for 12 hours before being released.

Ms. Tian Lili, Ms. Li Ping, and Ms. Li Liying were reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on July 27, 2021. They were arrested and released 24 hours later.

14. [Anyang City, Henan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Liu Changxi, around 70, and his younger sister from Dougong Township, Neihuang County, were arrested in June 2021. Based on the contact information in his cell phone, the officers then arrested Ms. Fan Xiangqin (in her 50s) in Tianshi Township, and Ms. Fang Caiyun (in her 50s) in Xizhanglong Village, Zhanglong Township.

15. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cao Xiaomei Displaced

About 10 people led by Liang Yufeng, head of the Zhuozhou City Domestic Security Division, went to Ms. Cao Xiaomei’s home on the morning of September 14, 2021, and ransacked the place while no one was at home.

They rummaged through the front and back yards of her house and her parents-in-law’s house and confiscated computers, books, cash, and a large number of other items. While they were ransacking the place, Ms. Cao’s son and daughter-in-law came back. The officers threatened and intimidated them. They told her son to sign the list of confiscated items and asked where these items came from and who his mother contacted. They also threatened to take the couple away if they did not cooperate.

It was almost noon, and these people went out for lunch. They returned after lunch and searched Ms. Cao’s house one more time, and took away more belongings. The officers continued to pressure the young couple to sign paperwork and threatened that if they did not cooperate, a nationwide warrant would be put out for Ms. Cao’s arrest, and they would never see her again. The officers also pressured Ms. Cao’s son to locate his mother and get her back home, otherwise, he would face serious consequences. The harassment continued until that evening, and the officers then took the young couple to transcribe a “confession.”

The Domestic Security Division is still looking to arrest Ms. Cao, and she cannot return to her home.

16. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Six Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Tian Yunbo, Ms. Zhang Xiaohua, and Ms. Zhang’s husband Mr. Lu Jin went to an elderly practitioner’s home in Xingyunyuan Residential Community, Zijun Road, Guandu District, at around 3 p.m. on August 16, 2021. Two other elderly practitioners were there as well.

People from the Guandu District Domestic Security Division, the Yiliu Police Station, and the community management office broke into the elderly practitioner’s home, arrested all six practitioners, and took them to the police station for questioning with transcripts.

According to various sources, Mr. Lu was administratively detained for 10 days and returned home on August 28. An elderly female practitioner returned home.

The other four practitioners were placed under criminal detention. Mr. Tian was held in the Guandu District Detention Center, and Ms. Zhang was held in the Kunming City Detention Center. Details of the remaining two elderly practitioners’ situations are pending.

17. [Beijing] Mr. Guan Yingshan and Wife Ms. Du Guiqin Harassed

People from the local residential committee and the Xiangheyuan Sub-district Administration Office in Chaoyang District harassed Mr. Guan Yingshan and his wife Ms. Du Guiqin on September 10, 2021. The couple was called to the residential committee for a “talk.” The officials pressured them to sign paperwork, which they refused.

18. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Haixia and Ms. Sun Yaoxiang Harassed

Three men and one woman, including Yuan Guihao from the Zhangxing Township government and officials from the Zhaoyuan City Legal and Affairs Committee, harassed Ms. Yu Haixia at 9 a.m. on September 11, 2021. They said they wanted to ask about a couple of things, but Ms. Yu’s family stopped them. These people then threatened her family that their child’s schooling would be adversely impacted unless she agreed to be transformed.

On September 14, the height of the busy harvest season, Yuan Guihao led four or five people to Wangjia Village to harass Ms. Sun Yaoxiang.

19. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cai Liping Arrested in Beijing

Ms. Cai Liping went to Beijing to visit her grandson on July 10, 2021. On July 20, she went to take the subway in Beijing and was found carrying two Falun Gong informational flyers at the security checkpoint. She was arrested and taken into custody. Her family hired a lawyer for her.

20. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Manye and Ms. Gu Jihong Face Trial

Ms. Yang Manye and Ms. Gu Jihong were scheduled to be tried at 2:30 p.m. on September 24, 2021, in the No. 4 Court, No. 1111 Kangding Road, Jing’an District Court.
