1. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Yurong and Ms. Dong Wenxiu Facing Trial
Ms. Wang Yurong and Ms. Dong Wenxiu are due to be tried by the Harbin Railroad Court on September 9 and 14, 2020, respectively. The court intends to hold the trials in the city’s No. 2 Detention Center and is preventing the families from attending due to the coronavirus pandemic.
2. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Ling Jianmin Facing Trial
Mr. Ling Jianmin is due to be tried by the Haizhu District Court on the afternoon of September 14, 2020. The trial is due to take place in the Panyu District Detention Center, where Mr. Ling is being held. He suffers from severe gout and is in poor health.
Mr. Ling was arrested by officers from the Panyu Police Department on August 1, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The Panyu Procuratorate issued his arrest warrant later that month. His case was submitted to the procuratorate in October, and transferred to the Zhuhai District Procuratorate in November. His case was filed with the Zhuhai Court in January 2020.
3. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Wanxin Taken to Detention Center
Ms. Yang Wanxin was arrested by several officers from the Lugu Police Station and the Shijingshan Domestic Security Division on the evening of August 20, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and her computer, printer, and other personal belongings were confiscated.
Ms. Yang was taken to the Shijingshan Detention Center.
4. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Xiaojuan Targeted for Harassment
The mayor of Handian Town and officers from the police station went to Ms. Chen Xiaojuan’s home on the morning of September 6, 2020, as they wanted her to sign a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong. However, she was not there.
5. [Beijing] Ms. Li Ruiling Indicted
Ms. Li Ruiling was followed and arrested by officers from the Huashi Police Station on January 20, 2020, for posting Falun Gong fliers. She is being held in the Dongcheng District Detention Center. Charges have been filed against her in the court.
6. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Dechen and Ms. Liu Jinzhi Arrested
Mr. Li Dechen was arrested at home by four officers from the Yongle Police Station and the Xinfu Police Station in Zhaozhou County on August 25, 2020. The officers confiscated his Falun Dafa books and took him to the Yongle Police Station. They told him that they would have detained him for 15 days, but will not do due to the pandemic.
Ms. Liu Jinzhi was arrested and taken to the Yongle Police Station. Officers confiscated her Falun Dafa books and printed materials.
7. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhou Xiujuan Held in Detention Center
Ms. Zhou Xiujuan was arrested at home in the morning of July 15, 2020. The police confiscated 160 Falun Dafa books. Officer Yang Honglin from the Debiao Police Station interrogated her and slapped her in the face six times.
Ms. Zhou was held in the Weizigou Detention Center in Changchun for 15 days.
8. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Fengli and Ms. Dai Mingrong Harassed
Three officers went to Ms. Xiao Fengli’s boarding house on the afternoon of September 1, 2020, to harass her, but she wasn't there.
Ms. Dai Mingrong was harassed at home by three officers from the Maoxing Town Police Station, Zhaoyuan County at around 10 a.m. on September 3. They tried to videotape her using their cellphones, but Ms. Dai refused.
9. [Yinchuan City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region] Ms. Liu Sizu’s Wife Forced to Sign Police Documents
Two officers from the Shengli Street Police Station went to Mr. Liu Sizu’s home on September 2, 2020. Mr. Liu was not there, so the officers told his wife, “Falun Gong has been categorized as being the enemy. If you don’t sign the document, you will be arrested and imprisoned.” They questioned her and eventually got her to sign.
10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cui Xiuqin Arrested and Released
Ms. Cui Xiuqin went to the Jianyi Market on September 5, 2020. Jianyi Street community director Hua Yan followed her and reported her to the police. Officer Dong from the Jianguo Police Station arrested Ms. Cui and took her to the police station. She was released 20 minutes later and realized that she was being followed.
11. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Mr. Tao Shiji and Ms. Liu Fengrong Harassed
Mr. Tao Shiji from Lixin County was harassed by village cadres and agents from the Lixin 610 Office on September 4, 2020. They tried to coerce him into signing a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong.
Ms. Liu Fengrong from Lixin was harassed four times by officers from the police station and agents from the Lixin 610 Office between late August to early September 2020. They tried to coerce Ms. Liu into signing a guarantee statement.
12. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Yuqi Harassed
Ms. Liu Yuqi was harassed at home by Yang Jianbo and others from the Mengyang Town government on August 27, 2020. They tried to force her to sign a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong.
13. [Fujin City, Heilongjiang Province] Eleven Practitioners Harassed
Ms. Qi Lizhen was harassed at home by police officers in August 2020. In early September, four or five officers deceived Ms. Qin into opening her door by claiming that they were from the Civil Affairs Bureau. They photographed her and then left.
Ms. Wang Shufan was harassed by agents from the neighborhood community in August. They tried to coerce her into signing a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong. They called her son several times and threatened to make him and his wife jobless if he could not get his mother to sign the guarantee statement.
Mr. Wang Keping and Ms. Sun Liming were met by their work unit management. The leader ordered them to sign guarantee statements to stop practicing Falun Gong and said that they would be fired from work or sentenced if they didn't do it.
Ms. He Jingfen, Ms. He Jingyan, and Ms. Gong Yizhen each received harassing phone calls. Ms. Gong was forced to sign a guarantee statement.
Ms. Wang Shufan (not the one mentioned above), Ms. Liu Baowen, Ms. Liu Jinqin, and Ms. Mu Change were each harassed at home by village officials and officers from the police station. They demanded that the practitioners sign guarantee statements.
14. [Bazhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Lizhen Detained and Released
Ms. Hu Lizhen was held in the Bazhou City Police Department on September 3 and 4, 2020. Officers tried to coerce her into signing a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong. Ms. Hu refused and was released the following afternoon.
15. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Mr. Qiu Chunyang and Mr. Wu Guangwang Arrested
Mr. Qui Chunyang and Mr. Wu Guangwang were arrested by officers from the Shunhe Town Police Station on September 5, 2020, for hanging a Falun Gong banner.
16. [Yiyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Gui Maixiang Held in Detention Center
Ms. Gui Maixiang, in her 80s, was taken away from home, where she lived alone, by a group of unknown people. They said that she was not allowed to live in Nan and they would take her to her son’s home in Changsha City.
She is being held in the Yiyang City Detention Center.
17. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhang Guangmin Detained and Released, Ms. Han Shujuan and Another Practitioner Arrested
Ms. Zhang Guangmin was arrested at home by officers from the Shanghang Road Police Station on the afternoon of July 14, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She was detained for 40 days.
Ms. Han Shujuan and another practitioner, name unknown, were arrested the same day.
18. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Dexiu Harassed
Ms. Zhang Dexiu was harassed by village Party secretary Wang Daojun and others on the morning of September 4, 2020. They ordered her to write a guarantee statement to stop practicing Falun Gong, but she refused.
19. [Li County, Hunan Province] Ms. Zeng Fanjiu and Her Husband Taken to Brainwashing Center
Ms. Zeng Fanjiu, a retired teacher, was taken to a brainwashing center by agents from the Li County Political and Legal Affairs Committee on September 1, 2020. Her husband, not a Falun Gong practitioner, was also taken there.
20. [Laiyang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Jianmei Arrested
Ms. Wang Jianmei was arrested recently. Her home was ransacked, and personal belongings were confiscated.
21. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Qidian and Ms. Li Fazhen Harassed
Ms. Li Qidian and Ms. Li Fazhen, both in their 80s, live in the residential area of the Dahe Cotton Mill.
Ms. Li Qidian’s home was ransacked by three officers from the Zhoudian Police Station on August 5, 2020. They didn't present a search warrant and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. Ms. Li’s husband was bedridden. The officers took Ms. Li to the police station and held her there until 5 p.m. Before she left, she asked for her copy of the book Zhuan Falun and the list of confiscated items to be returned. Her request was denied.
Ms. Li Fazhen was harassed at home by four officers from the Caiyuan Police Station on August 27, 2019. They ransacked the place and confiscated her Falun Gong books, exercise music player, and other personal belongings. The officers tried to take her away, but she did not cooperate. The officers eventually left.
22. [Jieyang City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Huang Jianmin and His Wife Ms. Peng Wenjian Sentenced
Mr. Huang Jianmin and his wife Ms. Peng Wenjian were arrested on September 11, 2019. They were tried in the Jieyang Detention Center by the Rongcheng District Court on July 27, 2020. Mr. Huang was sentenced to a seven-year prison term, and Ms. Peng was sentenced to a three-year term. The court didn't inform the couple's family of their trial.
23. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yuan Yuqin and Ms. Fu Qiurong Sentenced to Prison, Mr. Yao Xinren in a Coma
Ms. Yuan Yuqin, Ms. Fu Qiurong, and Mr. Yao Xinren were arrested on July 3, 2019.
After spending more than a year in detention, Ms. Yuan was sentenced to a four-year prison term, while Ms. Fu was sentenced to a three-year term with a 30,000 yuan fine on June 18, 2020.
Mr. Yao suffered a stroke and remains in a coma after a craniotomy and tracheotomy.
