1. [Shanghai] Ms. Cong Peixi Abused
Officers Ding Jianmin and Li Jie from the Changhailu Police Station, Yangpu District went to Ms. Cong Peixi’s home on July 15, 2020. They told her that district-level officials wanted to talk to her, in order to trick her into coming with them to the police station.
At the police station, Ren Rinen, a deputy head of the police department's 610 Office, and other officers twisted Ms. Cong’s arms and fingers, strangled her neck, covered her mouth, pinched her ears, punched her shoulder blades, pulled her hair, and pinched her legs, and otherwise abused her.
Ms. Cong was photographed and they also forcibly took samples of her handwriting, fingerprints and blood. The officers took her computer and Falun Dafa books, and threatened to detain her.
2. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhou Huajian Faces Trial
A human rights lawyer hired by Mr. Zhou Huajian’s family went to the Maonan Procuratorate to review his case files on the afternoon of July 23, 2020. An official told the lawyer that Mr. Zhou’s case was brought over to the Maonan District Court. Mr. Zhou is facing trial.
3. [Xingtai City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xia Yunsheng Sent to Brainwashing Center
Officers from the Qiaodong Domestic Security Division and the Dongguo Village Police Station went to the store where Ms. Xia Yunsheng worked and arrested her on the morning of July 29, 2020. Ms. Xia’s home was ransacked and she was taken to a brainwashing center.
4. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Tang Meiyun Detained
On July 1, 2020, officers from the Hengshan County Police Department arrested Ms. Tang Meiyun at her work at the Hengyang No. 1 Affiliated Hospital without showing any documents. Ms. Tang was held in the Hengshan County Detention Center for 12 days.
5. [Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jiazhi Arrested
Ms. Chen Jiazhi was arrested and taken to the Yingzhong Police Station by plainclothes officers on May 28, 2020 when she distributed Falun Gong materials.
The police found a few copies of truth-clarifying materials in her bag. Subsequently, they ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Dafa books and printed materials. Ms. Chen refused to cooperate with the police, and did not sign any of their documents. She was brought home by her child that same day.
6. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Peiying Arrested
Officers from the Tuanjie Police Station, Faku County, went to Ms. Zhang Peiying’s home and arrested her on July 27, 2020. She was taken to the Faku County Procuratorate, and released after being interrogated.
7. [Longhua County, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Baojun’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Mr. Sun Baojun’s case was turned over to the Longhua County Procuratorate on July 20, 2020. He was charged with obstructing official duties.
8. [Pengxi County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Xiufang’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Ms. Chen Xiufang was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong on May 16, 2020. She was arrested. Her home was ransacked, and her Falun Dafa books, a radio, a memory card, a video player, and 300 yuan in cash were confiscated.
9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Xing Jianpu and Ms. Xing Yanchun from Gaohuangdi Village, Xinnong Township, Xinmin City, were reported to the police when distributing Falun Gong materials on the evening of July 25, 2020. They were arrested by officers from the Gongzhutun Police Station. Ms. Xing Yanchun returned home on the afternoon of July 26. Ms. Xing Jianpu was held in the Dadong Detention Center.
Officers from the Xinnong Police Station broke into Ms. Wang Lanfen’s home and ransacked the place at noon on July 26, 2020. They confiscated a computer, a printer, and two Falun Dafa books. Ms. Wang, her daughter, and another practitioner were taken to the police station. They were released after 9 p.m. that evening.
10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chu Qinghua Harassed
Mr. Chu Qinghua has been harassed continuously by officers from the Taibaozhuang Police Station, Xiashan District, since July 20, 2020.
The frequent visits by the police to Mr. Chu’s home have prevented him from living a normal life. The harassment has been going on for some time, and the business he operated had to close for several months.
11. [Gaomi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Tang Zhengmin and Ms. Du Xiaoyan Arrested
Mr. Tang Zhengmin was arrested at the Technology Market by the Gaomi City police on July 22, 2020. The police then went to the workplace of Mr. Tang’s girlfriend, Ms. Du Xiaoyan, and arrested her.
The police went to Mr. Tang’s home and ransacked it. They confiscated three Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, weekly publications of “Heavenly Grace,” and Minghui Weekly, a Samsung camera, a laptop, two cell phones, a Walkman, an MP3, about 200-300 yuan in cash, and over 6,500 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.
Both practitioners were taken to the Furi Police Station. Ms. Du returned home at noon on July 23. Mr. Tang was released on bail on the morning of July 24 after being extorted for 20,000 yuan.
12. [Changchun Province] Ms. Cui Yuqiu and Ms. Du Xin Held in Detention Center
Over 20 officers from the Changchun City Police Department, the Luyuan District Police Department, and the Chuncheng Street Police Station broke into Ms. Cui Yuqiu’s home on July 13, 2020. After showing the search warrant, the officers immediately began to ransack the place. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them, SD cards, printed materials, and a laptop. Ms. Cui and her daughter Ms. Du Xin were arrested and taken to the Weizigou Detention Center.
Ms. Cui and her daughter were brought back to the police station from the detention center on July 26. Ms. Du was released that day. Ms. Cui was taken to the Changchun Central Hospital to take a nucleic acid test. She was placed in criminal detention at the Changchun City No. 4 Detention Center.
13. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Feng Taken into Custody
Ms. Wang Feng from the Tiexi District was arrested by officers from the Fanrong Police Station while she was talking to people about Falun Gong on the afternoon of July 27, 2020. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Tiexi District Domestic Security Division.
14. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Xiuzhi and Ms. Zhao Ruixia Arrested
Ms. Wang Xiuzhi and Ms. Zhao Ruixia from Fengrun District were videotaped by the police when they talked to people about Falun Gong. Four officers broke into their homes and arrested them at 5:00 a.m. on June 18, 2020. Both practitioners were taken to the Taipinglu Police Station, and released that afternoon.
15. [Longjing City, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested
Under the command and coordination of the Longjing City Domestic Security Division, officers from the Anmin Police Station, and the Longmen Police Station broke into Ms. Piao Jinzi’s home on July 18, 2020. They arrested all the practitioners there. The practitioners are: a Mr. Jin, Ms. Piao Jinzi, Mr. Li Xiunan (about 68 years old), Ms. Cui Fenghua (60 years old), Ms. Han Hailan (62 years old), Ms. An Mingyu, and Ms. Piao Fenyu.
Ms. An and Ms. Piao Fenyu were released that day. Also, Ms. Li Lanshu, about 65, was arrested in Longjing City.
The officers ransacked each of these practitioners’ homes, and confiscated a large number of Falun Dafa books and various types of equipment for producing truth-clarification materials.
Mr. Li Xiunan was taken to the Dunhua Detention Center. Ms. Li Lanshu was held in the Yanji Detention Center.
16. [Suning County, Hebei Province] Ms. He Xiaoyan and Mr. Guo Zhenjia Detained
Officers led by Wang Zhiyuan, deputy head of the Suning County Domestic Security Division, followed Ms. He Xiaoyan to a shop and arrested her on July 24, 2020. Ms. He was taken to a police station and held there for three days and nights. She was forcibly sent to the county hospital for a physical examination and a nucleic acid test.
Ms. He went on a hunger strike for three days and nights. She was released on the afternoon of July 27. She was placed under residential surveillance, and not allowed to go out. Her car, driver’s license, ID card, laptop, over 4,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong facts printed on them, and a laminator were confiscated.
Mr. Guo Zhenjia was arrested on July 14, 2020, for disseminating Falun Gong facts on WeChat, a popular social media app. His home was ransacked by Domestic Security officers. He was taken to the police department for interrogation, and then to the county detention center. The detention center refused to admit him due to his high blood pressure. He was held in the police station for three days and nights. He was released and placed under residential surveillance.
17. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Shubo Arrested; Mr. Peng Xiangjie Displaced
Officers from the Dafangshen Police Station broke into Ms. Zhang Shubo’s home in Dafangshen Town and ransacked the place on July 16, 2020. They confiscated her Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong. Ms. Zhang was taken to the police station, and released the same day.
The police ransacked Mr. Peng Xiangjie’s home, and confiscated several Falun Dafa books and a media player. Mr. Peng managed to escape and is now displaced.
The officers returned to Mr. Peng’s home on July 22, 2020. They saw that the door was locked, and left.
18. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yu Aili’s Case Turned Over to Procuratorate
Ms. Yu Aili’s case was turned over to the Criminal Prosecution Department of the Chaoyang District Procuratorate. She was arrested by officers from the Balipu Police Station, Erdao District.
Her husband suffers from partial paralysis, the after effects of a brain hemorrhage, severe hypertension, and frequent convulsions. He cannot take care of himself. After Ms. Yu’s arrest, he was left at home with no one to take care of him.
19. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xing Deqin and Two Other Practitioners Arrested
Mr. Du Guolin was followed by plainclothes officers to Ms. Xing Deqin’s home on July 28, 2020. Mr. Du and Ms. Xing were arrested and their homes ransacked. Ms. Li Junlan was there and was also arrested.
20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yujie Arrested
Ms. Wang Yujie was arrested on July 21, 2020.
21. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Zhao Tried, No Verdict Announced
Mr. Zhang Zhao was tried by the Kuiwen Court via video-link on July 28, 2020, but no verdict was announced.
22. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Five Practitioners Tried Via Video-Link
Ms. Jiang Lanying, Ms. Zhang Li, Ms. Hu Shuiying, Mr. Zhang Wentao, and Mr. Chen Baozhi were tried via video-link by the Xihu District Court on the morning of July 7, 2020. Their families were not notified, and no verdicts were announced at the end of the trial.
Mr. Zhang and Mr. Chen were released on bail. The three female practitioners are still being held in the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center.
23. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Three Practitioners Held in Custody
Ms. Liang Meihua, Ms. Xiong Quanmei, and Ms. Xie Chunmei were arrested at Ms. Xie’s home by officers from the Nanchang City Domestic Security Division and the Xihu District Domestic Security Division when they were studying the Falun Gong teachings together on July 17, 2020. The three practitioners were taken to the Nanchang City No. 1 Detention Center.
24. [Yichang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Ni Xiaolan Arrested
Ms. Ni Xiaolan, in her 60s, from the Wangzhougang area, was followed and arrested while shopping at a market on July 20, 2020. Her home was ransacked.
25. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Shufang Arrested
Ms. Yan Shufang was arrested on July 28, 2020. Her home was ransacked the following day.
26. [Yongji County, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhou Bo and Wife Ms. Han Zaiping Held in Detention
Mr. Zhou Bo and his wife Ms. Han Zaiping were arrested on July 23, 2020. Their home was ransacked. Mr. Zhou is being held in the Jilin City Detention Center, and Ms. Han in the Xishan Detention Center.
27. [Beijing] Ms. Li Shuyun Officially Arrested
Ms. Li Shuyun from Fengtai District was followed by plainclothes officers when distributing Falun Gong materials at the end of June 2020. Officers from the Yongdingmenwai Police Station ransacked her home. Around 10 p.m. that evening, Ms. Li and two family members were taken to the police station and held there for over 48 hours until the early morning hours of the third day. After being given a nucleic acid test, Ms. Li was taken to the Dongcheng District Detention Center. She has been officially placed under arrest.
28. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Gao Yuxia Held in Detention Center
Ms. Gao Yuxia, in her 60s, was arrested at her home on the afternoon of July 17, 2020. She is being held in the Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center.
29. [Huai’an City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Lin Cuihua Tried
Ms. Lin Cuihua, 54, was tried by the Qingjiangpu District Court on the morning of July 23, 2020.
