Additional Persecution News from China – June 3, 2020 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in nine provinces, where at least 43 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

Mr. Wang Shuicheng was tried in the Potou District Detention Center on the afternoon of June 2, 2020.

2. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cai's Home Ransacked, Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Cai from Bajiaojing Town was chatting with Ms. Zhao Deqing from Deyang City on the street on May 10, 2020, when they realized they were being watched. The next day, Ms. Cai’s home was ransacked and over 40 Falun Gong books were confiscated.

Mr. Cai Shangyu, 70, from the Jingyang District was arrested by officers from the Jingyang Domestic Security Division on the morning of May 11. The officers confiscated a picture of Falun Gong's founder, Falun Gong books, and DVDs. The officers interrogated Mr. Cai, took his fingerprints, photographed him, and withdrew a blood sample.

Mr. Chen and his wife Ms. Xie from Bajiaojing Town were arrested on June 1.

3. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Liang Zhanhong, Ms. Fu Zhengping, Ms. Che, Ms. Liu, and Ms. Tong were arrested in April or May 2020. They were taken to a police station, where they were interrogated, had their fingerprints taken, and forced to sign police documents. Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated. Two of the practitioners were later released.

4. [Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Wang Mei Detained

Ms. Wang Wei was arrested on May 16, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Her Falun Gong books were confiscated. She was held in a detention center for ten days.

5. [Huazhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Huang Huiling Arrested

Ms. Huang Huiling, who is in her 70s, was arrested by officers from the Beian Police Station on the evening of April 26, 2020, after someone reported her for distributing Falun Gong fliers. Her Falun Gong books and other personal belongings were confiscated.

6. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yang Lijun from the Tongzhou District was intercepted and arrested by Li Zheng from the Tongzhou Police Department, Li Peng from the Taihu Police Station, and other officers while she was driving on April 21, 2020.

Ms. Li Shufang and Ms. Chen were arrested on the same day.

Ms. Yang was taken to a police station. She was released on bail after she failed the physical exam. Ms. Li was detained for 48 hours before being released.

7. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Haiying and Ms. Liu Ziying Arrested

Ms. Li Haiying and Ms. Liu Ziying from the Fuxing District were arrested by officers from the Shengliqiao Police Station on the afternoon of May 31, 2020, after someone reported them for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

8. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Hu Guijie and Ms. Zhao Guiyou Arrested

Ms. Hu Guijie and Ms. Zhao Guiyou were arrested by officers from Dongshan Police Station on June 1, 2020.

9. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Lihong's Case Passed to Court

Mr. Chen Lihong has been held in the Shenyang City Detention Center for nearly five months. His case has been filed with the Tiexi District Court.

10. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Chunqin Detained

Ms. Liu Chunqin, 45, was arrested by officers from the Taishanlu Police Station on the afternoon of May 27, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to a detention center.

11. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Song Shuchun Died as a Result of Persecution

Ms. Song was arrested by officers from the Heishijiao Police Station on November 12, 2018. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Yaojia Detention Center for 13 months. Her health deteriorated while in detention, and she could not eat.

She was released in December 2019 and put under house arrest. She still could not eat, and her abdomen swelled. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer, and passed away at 11:00 p.m. on May 30, 2020.

Ms. Song had been arrested for her belief three times before.

12. [Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Qinghua Held in Psychiatric Hospital

Ms. Yang Qinghua was arrested by officers from the Zhongma Police Station on the morning of March 11, 2020. She is being held in the Kangning Psychiatric Hospital.

13. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wu Baogui Detained

Mr. Wu Baogui from Jinzhou City has stayed away from home for seven years to avoid persecution. He was arrested by officers from the Hongyazi Township Police Station on May 27, 2020, after someone reported him for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Mr. Wu was held in the Huludao City Detention Center, before being transferred to Nanshan Park on May 30 for a 14-day quarantine due to the coronavirus epidemic.

14. [Luoding City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Shen Xuemei's Case Passed to Court

Ms. Shen Xuemei was arrested on September 30, 2019, and has been held in the Luoding Detention Center. Her case is now with the Luoding Court.

15. [Ningde City, Fujian Province] Mr. Pan Lianqiao Arrested

Mr. Pan Lianqiao from Xitan Town, Fuan City was arrested by officers from the Fuan Domestic Security Division on June 2, 2020, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. His home was ransacked, and computers, cell phones, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings were confiscated.

16. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Ying Arrested

Ms. Huang Ying from Shouan Town, Pujiang County was arrested by director Wang Ping from the Shouan Police Station and other officers on April 30, 2020. Her home was ransacked, and computers, printers, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings were confiscated. She was held in the Shouan Police Station over night.

17. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Fifteen Practitioners Facing Trial

Fifteen practitioners were arrested in a police sweep on August 15, 2019. Their cases were passed to the Lishu County Procuratorate several times but were returned for insufficient evidence. The practitioners have now been indicted and are facing trial in the Lishu Court.

The 15 practitioners included Mr. Han Jianping, Mr. Li Changkun, Mr. Jiang Tao, Mr. Tan Qiucheng, Ms. Cui Guixian, Ms. Liu Dongying, Ms. Zhang Shaoping, Ms. Zhou, and seven members from one extended family (Mr. Meng Xiangqi, his father Mr. Meng Fanjun, his mother-in-law Ms. Fu Guihua, his sister-in-law Ms. Yu Jianli, her husband Mr. Wang Dongli, and Mr. Wang's parents Mr. Wang Kemin and Ms. Wang Fengzhi).
