(Minghui.org) A married couple in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, have been detained for two months for their faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.
Mr. Cheng Furong and Ms. Liang Fengying were arrested on March 9, 2020, after being followed by the police for distributing informational materials about how the communist regime has been covering up the coronavirus epidemic with the same tactics used in persecuting Falun Gong.
The police confiscated the couple's computer and Falun Gong related materials. They counted each page of the materials as one separate piece of evidence to be submitted to the procuratorate in an attempt to pursue a long prison term against them.
The couple are being held in the Hohhot No.1 Detention Center.
They own a small Chinese medicine clinic in Hohhot. They are known for their extensive medical knowledge and kindness and have often treated low-income families for free or charged a minimum fee. Their arrests have left their patients scrambling to find new doctors.
