(Minghui.org) I was born in Canada and am nine years old. Right before Christmas break last year, my school arranged an ice skating event. My mom volunteered to chaperone my class.

That morning, my tooth started to hurt a little, and as I was ice skating, my toothache worsened. I told my mom about it, but she didn’t seem to pay attention to what I was saying because she was busy looking after students who did not know how to ice skate.

At lunchtime, I saw a biscuit in my lunchbox. It looked quite delicious, but it had been in my lunchbox for many days. I took it out and bit into it. I immediately felt a sharp pain in my tooth. Tears started rolling down my cheeks. When my teacher saw how much I was hurting, she sent me to the office and called my mom. I was given an icepack to hold over my tooth. It hurt even more when I put the ice pack on.

My mom came to pick me up a while later. As we were walking towards our car, my mom asked, “Do you want to go to the dentist?” When I had toothaches before, I always stayed home, studied the Fa, and sent righteous thoughts. My toothache would usually stop.

My maternal grandfather is a dentist. My grandfather and father are not cultivators. Whenever my tooth hurt, they wanted me to go to the dentist. This time when my mom asked if I wanted to go, I answered without hesitation, “I don’t want to use ordinary people’s methods. I won’t go to the dentist.” My mom said, “Alright, let’s go to McDonald's and get something to eat. We’ll study the Fa and practice the exercises when we get home.”

Miraculously, when my mom started to drive, my toothache got better. My mom said, “You weren’t diligent enough. Only if you listen to Master Li by studying the Fa and practicing the exercises will he be able to watch over you and help you when you have a toothache.” I felt that with my mom by my side, my tooth did not hurt as much. I am sincerely grateful to her for helping me with my toothache.

She said, “Your tooth stopped hurting not because there’s a cultivator at home. It’s because you had righteous thoughts. I was really happy when you said you didn’t want to use ordinary people’s methods.”

Master said:

“When one’s Buddha-nature emerges, it will shake ‘the world of ten directions.’” (Lecture One, Zhuan Falun)

“You said you didn’t want to be an ordinary person, so Master was able to use supernormal ways to help you.”

When we left McDonald's, my toothache was almost gone. We got home and started to study the Fa and practice the exercises. My mom encouraged me to look inward for shortcomings, and I found many attachments.

First of all, after brushing my teeth the night before, I hadn’t been able to resist the temptation of eating some cotton candy and chocolate. I did not brush my teeth again after eating the candy. I had an attachment to eating, so in the morning, I started to feel pain in my tooth.

Secondly, when I was ice skating, my mom seemed not to pay attention to me because I knew how to ice skate. She spent a long time helping a student who didn’t know. I felt left out, so I started to gossip about him with two of my friends. I even pointed and laughed at him because I saw he was wearing disposable diapers. A short time later, I fell on the ice, hurting my legs and worsening my toothache. I found I had jealousy. I also did not cultivate my speech because I was making fun of him behind his back. So the evil took the chance to interfere.

Also, when the teacher was giving me an ice pack, I did not regard myself as a cultivator. I did not want the teacher to think I was weird, so I pretended to put the ice pack over my tooth. I still used an ordinary mindset instead of my righteous thoughts, and as a result, my tooth hurt even more.

After my experience with this toothache, I will strive to eliminate my attachments by studying the Fa, being diligent in doing the exercises, and looking inward. I want to be Master’s true disciple. Thank you, Master, for enlightening and helping me!
