(Minghui.org) During the past 21 years, Falun Gong practitioners have never stopped their efforts to expose the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)'s persecution of their faith. Many police officers have come to understand the illegality and brutality of the persecution and turned to support practitioners in various ways.
Below are two stories recently received by Minghui.org.
Greetings from Police Officers
May 13 is the annual World Falun Dafa Day and it also coincides with the birthday of Mr. Li Hongzhi, founder of the practice. On this special day this year, I heard someone knocking on my door.
I opened the door to see the community police officer and his associate. “Today is Master Li’s birthday and we're here to wish Master Li a happy birthday,” the officer said. We smiled at each other and I let them in.
This community officer has been assigned to monitor me for over 10 years. Several years back I had told him about Falun Gong and its principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. I also gave him anti-censorship software to read uncensored information. After reading the information, he realized how the CCP has been suppressing innocent people, including Falun Gong practitioners, and he quit the CCP Youth League organization that he had joined as a child.
Part of the officer's job is to check on me around sensitive times, such as World Falun Dafa Day, anniversaries of the persecution, and major holidays. Most of the time, he'd just speak with me on the phone. Occasionally he'd drop by and bring with him different people every time he came to see me. He'd then ask me to educate the “new faces” about Falun Gong.
Whenever any of the new faces appeared hesitant to renounce membership in the CCP organizations, he'd ask, “Why not?” He would add, “It [quitting the CCP organizations] will bring you good luck.” Other officers would then agree to do so, and this happened several times.
Last year on May 13, he came with a community administrator. As soon as they stepped into my home, he began talking, from the U.S.-China trade war to how the CCP deceived others. I followed up by mentioning that the CCP had been lying for decades and had harmed many innocent people, including Falun Gong practitioners, during numerous political campaigns.
After hearing that several members of my family had suffered for our belief in Falun Gong, the community administrator said that she knew all these things, but she was too scared to talk about it. I urged her to sever ties with the CCP regime and the police officer also echoed my sentiments.
The administrator agreed happily and thanked me several times.
“Detention” Served on Paper
Several days ago, two practitioners were arrested and taken to a police station in northern China.
Upon arriving there, they shared with the police how the practice of Falun Gong had improved their health and helped them become better citizens. Already in their 70s, both of them look much younger than their age.
“We did not want to arrest you. We had no choice because someone had reported you,” one middle-aged officer said.
“If someone from the Domestic Security Office comes later to interrogate you, you can say you don’t have your home keys with you—we won’t go search your place then,” another officer said in a low voice, “When someone reported you last time, we did not search your place either, even though we knew where you live.”
Later the two practitioners were each handed a piece of paper. “There is a pandemic right now, and we have no place to detain you,” an officer explained, “Your fine of 500 yuan is also waived. The 10-day detention will be carried out on paper.”
The practitioners looked at the paper—it was a notice of release from detention.
