Additional Persecution News from China – May 9, 2020 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in ten cities or counties in six provinces, where at least 16 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Shuyuan Officially Placed Under Arrest

7. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Chengwu Locked in Solitary Confinement
8. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Ms. Shu Yulan and Her Sister Ms. Shu Yulian Arrested
9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Xiulan Arrested
10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Sufang and Ms. Tang Xiumei Arrested

1. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Shuyuan Officially Placed Under Arrest

Ms. Chen Shuyuan from the Lishan District was arrested by officers from the Lingshan Police Station on the afternoon of April 15, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials.

She was officially placed under arrest and is being held in the Anshan Women's Detention Center.

2. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Xiang Quanguo Arrested

Mr. Xiang Quanguo was followed and arrested by Zeng Yi and other officers from the Shizhong District Police Department on the afternoon of May 8, 2020. They confiscated a laptop and over 10,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them. Mr. Xiang’s whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xing Quanzheng Arrested

Mr. Xing Quanzheng was arrested by officers from the Chengfeng District Domestic Security Division on April 16, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong.

4. [Peng’an County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Qiurong Arrested

Ms. Zhou Qiurong was recorded on surveillance cameras distributing Falun Gong materials on the morning of February 14, 2020. She was arrested, and her Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, audio player, and printed materials were confiscated.

Ms. Zhou's family has also suffered from the persecution.

Her husband Mr. Hong Jianming has been persecuted. Their son Mr. Hong Bing was forced to cut ties with his mother, and his salary was considerably reduced. Their granddaughter who had been attending a university for a year was also dismissed.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Chunling, Ms. Zhang Weiyun, and Ms. Zhang Shuyan from Xindianzi Village, Yangguanlin Town in the Fengrun District were arrested on the morning of May 6, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were taken to the Qishuzhuang Police Station.

Their homes were ransacked, and Falun Dafa books, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, printers and printing materials were confiscated.

6. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Lu Guangdong Arrested

Mr. Lu Guangdong from the Zhanhe Forestry area of Wudalianchi City was arrested on the evening of May 7, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. His home was ransacked.

7. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Chengwu Locked in Solitary Confinement

Mr. Wang Chengwu from Hexiwu Town in the Wuqing District was arrested by officers from the Criminal Police Team in the Xianghe Police Department on June 27, 2019. He was taken to the Wuqing Detention Center, and was transferred to the No. 2 Ward of the Jidong No. 2 Prison, Tangshan City, Hebei Province, in early March 2020. He was locked in solitary confinement.

8. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Ms. Shu Yulan and Her Sister Ms. Shu Yulian Arrested

Ms. Shu Yulan, 59, and her sister Ms. Shu Yulian, 68, were followed and arrested by five or six police officers when they visited their brother on the afternoon of May 2, 2020. Their homes were ransacked.

Their sister-in-law, who does not practice Falun Gong, was also arrested and taken to the Dananmen Police Station. She was released later that evening.

Ms. Shu Yulan and Ms. Shu Yulian were taken to a detention center, but were not admitted due to their high blood pressure. Both sisters were released that evening.

9. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Xiulan Arrested

Ms. Chen Xiulan from Jiaozhou City was arrested on the afternoon of May 6, 2020. Her whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Sufang and Ms. Tang Xiumei Arrested

Ms. Guo Sufang, 70, and Ms. Tang Xiumei, in her 50s, from the Fangzi District were arrested by officers from the Economic and Technological Development Zone Police Station in Anqiu City on the morning of May 7, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong. A large amount of Dafa books and truth-clarification materials were confiscated.
