Additional Persecution News from China – March 28, 2020 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in six provinces, where at least 26 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

1. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Sui, Ms. Wu Qing, Ms. Lin Yan, Ms. Lan, and Ms. Yin from Wucheng County were recently arrested.

2. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Hu Lianxiang and Ms. Gao Jiuyun Arrested

Ms. Hu Lianxiang and Ms. Gao Jiuyun were arrested by the head of Quzhou County Domestic Security Division Li Bin, and other officers on February 18, 2020.

Ms. Hu was later released. Ms. Gao is being held in the Handan City Detention Center.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Zhang Xiuhua Arrested; Ms. Jia Fengzhi Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, 74, was seen distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on March 10, 2020. Officers from the Quanhe Police Station, Huairou District arrested her on March 12. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, USB flash drives, audio players, and other personal belongings. Ms. Zhang was tied to an iron chair and abused while being interrogated in the police station. The police took photos and videos of her, and forced her to sign their paperwork.

Ms. Jia Fengzhi from the Pinggu District was sentenced to three to four years in prison by the Pinggu Procuratorate on March 27.

4. [Deyang City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Zhipeng and Ms. Zhao Jie Arrested

Mr. Yang Zhipeng and Ms. Zhao Jie were arrested by officers from the Taishanlu Police Station in the early hours of March 26, 2020. Their homes were ransacked.

5. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Ms. Dong Yuxia Arrested

Ms. Dong Yuxia, 55, from Yangxin County, was recently arrested for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in her residential community.

6. [Changli County, Hebei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Miao Yingqun and her husband Mr. Fan Junyi were intercepted at a Coronavirus Checkpoint in their residential community on the afternoon of March 23, 2020. The couple were arrested, and their car impounded. The police confiscated 16,000 yuan in cash, and Mr. Fan’s salary card. Ms. Miao’s younger sister Ms. Miao Xiangqun was arrested at home. The police confiscated a computer and printer. Ms. Miao Yingqun, Mr. Fan Junyi, and Ms. Miao Xiangqun were released on bail on the afternoon of March 24.

Ms. Zhu Yanmei and her non-practitioner husband were arrested at home by officers from the Chengguan Police Station on the morning of March 24. Their home was ransacked.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Peng Xia and Ms. Wang Yanjun Arrested

Ms. Peng Xia and Ms. Wang Yanjun from Huailai County were arrested by officers from the Tielunan Police Station, Shacheng Town, and the Domestic Security Division on March 24, 2020, for talking to people about Falun Gong in Xishuiquan Village. They were locked in a cage, and had their printed materials confiscated.

The officers ransacked Ms. Peng’s home, and confiscated a box of USB flash drives and over 8,000 yuan in paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.

Ms. Wang was later released. Ms. Peng was taken to the Zhangjiakou City Detention Center.

8. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhai Chunmei Arrested

Ms. Zhai Chunmei was arrested by Domestic Security officers on March 21, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Her home was ransacked, and over 50,000 yuan in cash confiscated. Ms. Zhai’s whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Ms. Zeng Xiyin and Ms. Yang Zongmei Arrested

Ms. Zeng Xiyin was spotted by person on patrol, who was wearing a red armband, when she distributed Falun Gong materials on the afternoon of February 7, 2020. Ms. Zeng was arrested by officers from the Jianning Police Station.

Ms. Yang Zongmei was arrested by officers from the Yuetang Police Station on March 7, for posting Falun Gong informational stickers.

10. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hu Xiuhua Arrested

Ms. Hu Xiuhua from the Kuiwen District was arrested by officers from the Dayu Police Station on the morning of March 24, 2020, for distributing Falun Gong materials. Her home was ransacked.

11. [Shanghai] Ms. Yang Jie Held in Detention Center

Ms. Yang Jie was taken to the Nanhui District Detention Center.

Mr. Li Wenhe and his son from Xiantai Township, Jingxiu District, were arrested by the head of Chaoyang Domestic Security Division Yu Lei, and officers from the Xiantai Police Station on the evening of March 7, 2020. Their home was ransacked.
