(Minghui.org) I planned to travel to my hometown to celebrate the Chinese New Year so made a large number of truth-clarification materials to distribute in nearby villages.
Because the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) concealed information about the coronavirus (CCP Virus) the sudden epidemic caught me off guard. By January 31 the surrounding communities were quarantined and placed on lock down. Only one entrance in each community was left open. People needed passes to go in or out and only one person from each household was allowed to go out each day. Anyone who wasn't a resident was denied entry.
My husband and I studied the Fa in the mornings. In the afternoons I went out to distribute materials. On my way to the local supermarket there were few people and every one walked quickly. Police vehicles were everywhere. The only place I could distribute materials was in the parking lot. It didn’t go well.
When I talked with the other practitioners I realized that most of them weren't sure what we should do. They just stayed home and studied the Fa. When I suggested that we hand out materials in our respective areas, Ms. Lin replied that she'd been blacklisted by the police, so she was afraid that they'd come to arrest her. The other practitioners had various understandings.
I thought, “I’ll just do what I think is the right thing to do.” I told my husband, “Since it’s not easy to clarify the facts to people face-to-face now, how about we distribute truth-clarification materials in our community?
In the beginning my husband was afraid that I'd be tracked down and arrested since I'd already been arrested and sentenced twice. When I sued the former CCP head for launching the persecution I was illegally detained again. The CCP felt I was the “key” member in our area. Even though my husband also started practicing Falun Dafa, the persecution I was subjected to negatively impacted him.
I reminded him, “Master asked us to save more people. Now people are dying from this CCP Virus. If we don’t do something we may not have another chance. Also think about it, what’s our mission? Aren't we letting Master down if we don't do something?”
I added, “I feel right now is the best time to save people. They're all afraid of death. When we clarified the facts to them before they didn’t want to listen; they only thought about making money. Now everyone has to stay home. When we give them materials they have time and they'll read them carefully.”
My husband listened. However, he still cautioned me. I said, “We're doing the righteous thing which is saving people. Master is protecting us. We don’t need to worry and we shouldn't have any negative thoughts.” I said, “If you're worried just stay home and I'll go out myself.”
He didn’t want me to go alone. So we studied the Fa together in the morning. While he went to work in the afternoon I printed the materials. Then I went out at night to hand them out.
At first I handed them out while the news was on TV. While my husband sent forth righteous thoughts for me, I went into the building. After a few times I realized there was some interference. So I watched one lecture of Master’s video recordings after dinner, then I sent forth righteous thoughts at 9 p.m. Afterwards I went out to hand out materials.
During the process, my husband and I had some xinxing conflicts. Sometimes we didn’t agree with me, or I with him. Sometimes we'd complain about each other. But as soon as we came home we would talk it over and look inward; then we'd correct ourselves. While we handed out materials, we only thought about saving people and we hoped whoever received our materials would read them carefully. In less than a month we managed to cover our entire area.
My husband said, “I never expected we'd be able to cover the entire area. Thank you for helping me improve!” I replied, “Please thank our Master, not me. I think we were able to do it because we our motive was pure – to save people. Master has always watched us and helped us.”
My husband said, “At the beginning when I thought about the big area we had to cover I was worried. Now I feel like I've eliminated some bad notions during the process. Cultivating ourselves solidly is so important!”
When we were about to finish our district, I began thinking how we'd cover the other areas. Someone coincidentally came to my home and told me that they lowered the control over the entrance. Now one could go in and out freely during the day and no pass was needed.
That afternoon I went out and walked around the neighborhood. I noticed all the businesses on the main streets were open. When I told my husband he said the other areas were still under strict control. I realized that Master saw our sincere wish to save people and opened the path. That night we went to the business district to distribute materials. Later when we saw more cars on the road, we placed our materials on the cars when they parked.
One day Ms. Xie came and told me that someone in our district brought truth clarification materials to the local community committee secretary. The person who found the materials accused me and said that he would take them to the police. Before Ms. Xie left, she reminded me to pay attention to security.
I wasn’t worried. After she left I thought about where we'd been: While we were handing out materials we didn’t run into anyone, and we weren't recorded by video surveillance. I thought, “This was only an illusion. The old forces were interfering with us to keep us from saving people.”
When I told my husband he said, “No one saw us distributing pamphlets. The person who thought it was you was only guessing.” When I asked if he was afraid he said we had no reason to be afraid as we did the most righteous thing. He suggested we send righteous thoughts more intensively to eliminate anything trying to interfere with us.
I said, “This is an illusion or a test to see whether we've truly and solidly cultivated ourselves. We shouldn't be moved or have any negative thoughts. Haven’t we talked about writing truth-clarification letters to police officers? If he takes our materials to the police, then won't he actually be helping us?” My husband smiled and said, “You're right! We shouldn't have any negative thoughts. We should look inward and turn this bad thing into a good thing. We should send righteous thoughts for longer periods of time and study the Fa more.” I agreed.
When we looked inward, I realized that after I came home from handing out materials, because it went very well, I felt good about myself. My husband also found his resentment towards practitioners who didn't step forward and distribute materials. We reminded each other that cultivation is about cultivating oneself. We should focus on others’ strong points. At the same time, we realized that as more people came outside, we should do more face-to-face truth-clarification.
So after we stayed home and sent righteous thoughts and studied the Fa for two days, we went out again. It has been going smoothly. We felt this was truly as Master said, “If thoughts are righteous, evil will collapse” (“What’s to Fear?” Hong Yin II)
We came to realize that during this period of time, it went so smoothly when it came to saving sentient beings—this has a lot to do with our paying attention to Fa-study as well as Master’s protection.
The second time I was released from prison, I was afraid of being persecuted again. My attachment to comfort made me slack off in my Fa-study and doing the exercises. Even though I was still doing the three things, because of my fear, when I clarified the facts to people I was selective.
During this epidemic, I not only read one or two lectures of Zhuan Falun each day, I also read Master’s new lectures. This helped me identify many of my attachments, such as impatience, blaming others, looking down on my family, lack of compassion towards my family, and Party culture.
After I identified why I looked down on my sister-in-law, who is also a practitioner, the thing that kept us apart disappeared. I also got rid of my fear of being persecuted. Once again, I came to enlighten only by studying the Fa well, could one strengthen one’s righteous thoughts, and purify oneself. Only when I truly wished to save people, would it be effective. Master said,
“The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts.” (“Drive Out Interference”, Essentials for Further Advancement II)
I came to feel that Master was beside me at all times. I did so little but what Master gave me was tremendous.
This epidemic is also a wake-up call for practitioners. Time is running out. Master has been delaying the end of this time period so we can save more people. In order to help us accomplish our mission, he has endured so much for us. During the final leg of this journey, we should seize the time to study more Fa, do the three things well, save more people and leave no regrets on our cultivation path. I hope those practitioners who haven’t stepped forward, quickly step out to save people. Let's not let down Master’s saving grace, nor leave any regrets in our cultivation.
