(Minghui.org) It's been over two months since the coronavirus began spreading in our area. The atmosphere immediately became very tense. Practitioners enlightened that our time to save people was extended by Master through his tremendous suffering. Our families didn’t want us to contact other practitioners, or go out. Time is short, however, and our opportunities are few. We knew we shouldn't be restricted by sentimentality; we needed to quickly go out and save people.
I put together small packages of informational materials published on the Minghui website which pertain to the virus, plus four sets of truth-clarification cards. Then we went out to distribute them.
Overcoming Challenges
During the process, we encountered many difficulties that didn’t seem to be easily resolved. If it wasn't for Master’s empowerment, we couldn't overcome them.
After we printed more than 200 copies of the materials, we ran out of paper and plastic bags. Nearly all the stores were closed. We asked the other practitioners if they had any extra supplies, but everyone was short. Ms. Li suddenly found one store open and she purchased a bag of plastic bags. That store closed the following day.
Since only supermarkets remained open, practitioners went to one after another, looking for stationery paper. They finally found some.
Practitioners who handed out materials also encountered challenges.
Our Stories
Ms. Jiang’s husband was concerned about their family's health, so he tried to stop her from going out. He said, “If you go out, don’t bother coming back!” The buses only come every hour or two, and they are usually empty. She worried about getting around without public transportation.
She asked Master to help her. Her residential area was locked down, but one person from each household could go out shopping every day with the entry card. So her problem was solved.
Ms. Wang lives in a large residential area. In the beginning, she could go whenever and wherever she wanted so she continued handing out truth-clarification materials. Her area was soon locked down. She thought: I can still save people in my own area. Since she didn’t have the entry cards for other residential buildings, she couldn’t get in. She asked Master for help and she clarified the facts to people who were responsible for other residential areas. After they learned the truth, they said: Just like you we are here to help people. In the end, they gave her a master entry card which allowed her to access the entire area.
Ms. Wang put up double-sided sticky notes to put up a truth-clarification package on the pole next to the main entrance of her area. When the security guard saw her he asked, “What are you putting up?” She replied, “It’s for saving people.” The guard said, “Oh, it’s Falun Dafa! That's great! For the government to save people is tangible, but what you do is intangible. We are exhausted from the work we have to do. Please save more people. The more you save, the better. We support you!”
Cultivation Opportunities
After Ms. Liu finished handing out the first batch of materials, she went to Ms. Li’s home to get more. When she was about to leave Ms. Li's daughter-in-law saw her. She was very upset and said, “I was fine with your coming to my home before, but during this epidemic, please don’t come back! Wait until it’s over.”
Ms. Liu maintained her xinxing and she didn’t get upset. Instead she said in a very soft voice, “I won’t come back for now.” Ms. Li felt embarrassed because of her daughter-in-law’s rudeness. But she remembered what Master said in Zhuan Falun, “You have gained four ways in one shot.” (Lecture Four, Zhuan Falun) She knows that if they didn't read the Fa every day, she and Ms. Liu would not have handled the situation so calmly.
Besides leaving materials on her neighbor's doors, Ms. Hao also tries to talk to them face-to-face. One neighbor who Ms. Hao had already talked to decided to renounce her Chinese Communist Party (CCP) membership.
When Ms. Hao gave her a truth-clarification package and a keepsake she happily took them. When Ms. Hao saw her neighbor the next day, she was very happy and kept saying, “Thank you Falun Dafa!”
One day, someone knocked on a practitioner's door and her husband opened it. It was a group of people from the local community, the 610 Office in the residential administration office, and the police station. When they asked, “Is so-and-so home?” Her husband replied, “She's with her daughter.” They showed him a package of truth-clarification materials and said, “There are only three Falun Dafa practitioners in our community. The other two are either in their 80s or 90s. They are too old to go out. So we think your wife is handing out these materials.”
The husband examined the materials and saw it was entitled, “Great Compassion.” He said, “I don’t know if my wife distributed this. May I ask what's wrong with it? All the hospitals in China are so packed that people can’t get proper treatment. What’s wrong with Falun Dafa practitioners compassionately trying to save people?” They had nothing to say, instead they quietly left.
We truly appreciate Master’s empowerment and protection. Each day presents us with opportunities to eliminate attachments and improve our xinxing in the process of saving people, as well as opportunities to establish our mighty virtue. On the surface, it seems that we are the ones doing it, but it’s all done by Master.
At this critical moment when the old forces attempt to destroy more people, Master asked us to, “Do well what remains to be done, and head toward the future with a cultivation journey free of regret.” (“To the Canada Fa Conference”)
We vow to do our best to do as Master asks, walk the final leg of our path well, and never slack off. This is the only way to repay Master’s saving grace.
