(Minghui.org) I am a physical education teacher at a middle school. I take my job seriously to do the best I can for my students. Many students have told me they enjoy my class very much. Over the years, I've also earned several awards for my teaching, and have made a name for myself in our county and city as a good teacher.
But things took a turn for the worse.
After Jiang Zemin (former communist party leader) regime’s cruel persecution of Falun Gong that began in July 1999, the schools had become one of their major targets. And as a practitioner of Falun Dafa, I became one of the undesirables.
I was illegally sent to forced labor camps twice and detained in brainwashing centers twice. They didn’t pay me my wages or even any living expenses for 12 years; the school management and government agencies kept the money for themselves.
I reached retirement age in October 2015. At the time, my colleagues were worried that I might not be able to complete the retirement paperwork smoothly. Sure enough, my supervisors said that they would not process my retirement application if I did not write a guarantee statement swearing never to practice Falun Dafa again.
“I won’t write any guarantee statement, but you have to process my retirement application,” I replied.
In the end, they gave in. My retirement salary was set to be more than 3,000 yuan a month, and I got clearance to start receiving it six months in advance. I knew that Master Li (the founder of Falun Dafa) was helping me and that everything was given to me by Master. My family was also very grateful for this blessing.

Coming Out of Retirement
After I retired, my school's management asked me to continue working because of my good track record. Since I didn't live far from school, I said yes. So, I basically kept working anyway.
Through studying the Fa, I realized that this work environment was prearranged for me by Master a long time ago. Master had left hints for me in dreams many times. So no matter how the forces of evil manipulated people to grossly underpay or overwork me, I never gave up because I knew that this job was the best opportunity for me to awaken people and fulfill my vows.
Master said,
“In the magnificent, grand feats of validating the Fa with rationality, clarifying the truth with wisdom, and spreading the Fa and saving people with mercy, each Dafa disciple’s path of Consummation is being perfected.” (“The Disciples’ Magnificence” Essentials for Further Advancement II)
A New School Year
When the new school year started, it was relatively hard to clarify the truth to the new students, who had been deceived by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s propaganda. Many of them had a negative impression of Dafa. Some were not willing to hear the truth, others were afraid; some students immediately left me when they heard the truth, and some even told their teachers and parents.
In order not to trigger their negative side, I spent more time sending forth righteous thoughts when new students came in each year. I tried to eliminate all of the evil factors controlling the students behind the scenes first to pave the way for clarifying the truth.
When the new students had cleaning duty, I would take the opportunity to talk to them.
“You're very good at this – do you also help with the housework at home?”
If they answered yes, it usually meant that they were a kind person. I'd praise them for their kindness, and then ask them whether they thought people should fight or reconcile – they usually said that people should reconcile and accommodate for the other party's differences.
Most of them were good kids. I would then tell them about Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and being a good person.
“Any person who can align with Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is a good person. If someone goes against that, then he's a bad person, wouldn't you agree?” I would ask.
I'd then tell them about Falun Dafa and how repeating 'Falun Dafa is good' can help people get out of bad situations, and can even help them become better students. Many students agreed with what I said, and promised to remember what I told them.
Patience Is a Virtue
In September 2018, I was really looking forward to talking about Falun Dafa to the incoming class. But behind this facade lurked the attachment of impatience.
I attempted to finish talking to all the new students in two months. As a result, some students told the headteacher, which earned me a stern talking-to from the school's Chinese Communist Party secretary.
“Don’t talk to the students,” he said. “What if they report you to the government?”
I knew that it must be my own problem and looked within. From this, I found that I'd had the attachment of impatience and a fear of being harmed. I also hadn’t studied the Fa well, so I didn’t have enough righteous thoughts. Furthermore, I had developed an attachment to self, treating the act of saving people as a task.
When I realized my problems, I rectified myself and tried to maintain a righteous state of mind while saving people. I also spent more time sending forth righteous thoughts.
It became cold in December. The words “light a brazier” came into my ear, so I lit a brazier (portable heater) for two of my seventh-grade classes the following day. The students felt touched by this act of kindness; it was great to see their smiles. The headteacher even thanked me on the students' behalf.
Since then, it had become much easier for me to clarify the truth at school. One morning, six seventh graders came up to me asking to quit the Youth League using fake names. I told them the truth about Dafa afterward as well – it was wonderful to see them so happy.
Challenges Along the Way
I have been clarifying the truth in school for more than ten years, but sometimes there are students who are a little more difficult.
I still remember one morning in September of 2017. It was only the second day of school. When half of the students came, I went into the classroom to tell them the facts about Falun Dafa.
Two tall girls began to yell at me as soon as I started.
“You're a traitor! You hate this country,” they said. They got the other students to join them in jeering at me.
I realized that it was not a good time to clarify the truth, so I stopped and started to send forth righteous thoughts instead. I wanted to eliminate the evil specters controlling those two girls behind the scenes.
From then on, I would send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate all the evil factors behind the two girls whenever I saw them at school. They looked very nervous and scared when they saw me, but I knew that it wasn't actually the girls who were scared – it was the evil factors behind them, who were about to disintegrate.
When I saw them come to get hot water from our water room, I helped them fill their container. I treated them with compassion; I was determined to open their hearts and save them.
One morning, they came to me holding a very dirty basin. One of the girls demanded that I clean it. I didn't think anything of it and brushed the basin clean.
“I practice Falun Gong and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” I said afterward. “Falun Gong teaches people to be good and think of others first. If you treat the other teachers like you just treated me, they probably won't be very nice to you, right? Wouldn't it be nice if we could all follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance?”
She sheepishly said that it'd be very nice, and walked away with the basin.
A few days later, I saw the two girls again when they were washing their hands. I decided to try and talk to them again.
“You know, I'm really doing this for the both of you – I want you to have a bright future,” I said. “I'd hate to see the two of you be deceived by the CCP into doing things you might regret.”
I then asked if they would like for me to give them nicknames and help them quit the Youth League. They readily agreed. Whenever these two would see me again, they'd tell me, “Falun Dafa is good!”
The Swearing-In Ceremony for the Communist Youth League
I heard that my school was holding a swearing-in ceremony for new recruits to the Communist Youth League in June 2019. I felt very sad, thinking that it was because I didn’t do well enough. The next day, I wrote down the names of the students who just joined the Youth League, hoping to find these students and help them to quit. Because I had the wish to save them, Master helped bring these students to me.
One morning, two boys went out to fetch water.
“Did you participate in the oath ceremony?” I asked. They said yes.
I then told them about the CCP's crimes against humanity, and why it would be good to distance oneself from such a group. I also told them that good begets good – perhaps doing this good deed and quitting the league may bring them blessings in the future.
In the end, I asked them if they wanted to quit. The two boys agreed.
Most students at my school have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
Conclusion
Since 2006, I have seen off 14 groups of graduates, and over 90% of them had heard the truth about Dafa and withdrawn from the Youth League.
Around the school, I also make sure that the students know of the goodness of Falun Dafa. I tell my students to sincerely recite: “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” in case they come across any danger.
Whether they had a cold, fever, nosebleeds, or chickenpox, many students found that reciting those magic words would sincerely help them recover. They would then circulate the knowledge among their friends.
And just like that, “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” had been rooted in their hearts.
