Additional Persecution News from China – February 6, 2020 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 5 provinces, where at least 10 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Shanghai] Mr. Tian Hui Arrested, Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Tian Hui from Boxing Road, Pudong New Area, was arrested at home by officers from the 610 Office on the afternoon of February 4, 2020. His home was ransacked, and his whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Zhiwen Arrested

Mr. Sun Zhiwen from Yongji County was recorded on surveillance cameras posting messages about the coronavirus (COVID-19). He was arrested by Zhang Bo, head of the Yongji 610 Office, and other officers on February 4, 2020. His home was ransacked, and Falun Dafa books were confiscated.

Mr. Sun was taken to the Chengbei Police Station, and released that evening.

3. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Ms. Dang Juzhang Arrested

Ms. Dang Juzhang was arrested by Tiananmen security officers when she displayed a informational banner about Falun Gong in Beijing on January 29, 2020. She was taken back to Hefei City, Anhui Province, by officers from the Xiyuan Police Station.

Ms. Dang’s family went to the police station many times to request her release, but have not heard anything. Ms. Dang’s whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Fuyang City, Anhui Province] Mr. Shi Xiancheng Arrested

Mr. Shi Xiancheng from the Yingdong District was reported to the police in late January 2020, for talking to his colleagues about Falun Gong. He was arrested.

Mr. Shi's whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Qiong Taken to Prison

Ms. Wang Qiong, 55, a teacher from Wenxing School, Shashi District, was arrested on August 12, 2018, and held in the Ximen Detention Center, Jingzhou District. She was sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Jiangling County Court in July 2019, and was recently taken to Wuhan Women's Prison.

Ms. Wang and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Jiangling Police Department in mid-June 2017, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. She was placed under criminal detention on June 20, and released on bail on July 21, 2017.

Ms. Wang has been arrested and detained many times over the years. She was taken to a forced labor camp twice, held in brainwashing centers three times, dismissed from her job, been fined, and had her home ransacked several times. 

6. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Caiyu Arrested

Mr. Li Caiyu from the Shanshuilongcheng Residential Community was arrested by officers from the Huayuan Police Station in the Yuanbao District on the morning of February 4, 2020. His home was ransacked.

Mr. Li's family went to the police station to request his release. But Mr. Li was kept in the police station.

7. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] 75-Year-Old Ms. Liu Shiqin Sentenced to a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Liu Shiqin, 75, was arrested by officers from the Police Station in 2019. She was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term by the Mingshan District Court in early December. She is still being held in the Benxi City Women's Detention Center.

8. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Kuang Hong Sentenced to a Three-and-a-Half-Year Prison Term

Ms. Kuang Hong was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term by the Lishan District Court at the end of 2019. She appealed, but the Anshan City Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict.

9. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Du Yecheng Taken to Prison

Mr. Du Yecheng was taken to Hulan Prison’s Training Team at the end of 2019. The prison officials claimed that if he did not write a guarantee statement renouncing his belief, then his family would not be allowed to visit him.
