(Minghui.org) Eight Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province residents were arrested at home at around 7 a.m. on July 22, 2020, for their faith in Falun Gong, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

The police ransacked their residences and confiscated their computers, cellphones, Falun Gong books and other personal belongings. One practitioner’s family member’s computer and cellphone were also taken away.

The eight women, aged between 62 and 78, were arrested after the police found them reading Falun Gong books together and distributing materials about Falun Gong.

The eight practitioners are: Ms. Chen Jing, Ms. Hu Youping, Ms. Ma Yuhua, Ms. Xie Min, Ms. Shui Li, Ms. Yuan Xiue, Ms. Hu Cuilan, and Ms. Zhang.

Except for Ms. Chen, who is still detained at the Nanjing City Detention Center, the other seven practitioners have been released on bail. Each of them was ordered to pay a bail bond between 2,000 to 5,000 yuan.

Both Ms. Chen and Ms. Hu Youping appeared in Yuhua District Court on December 14. It’s not clear whether the other six practitioners are facing prosecution.
