(Minghui.org) Mr. Luo Longfei, a young Falun Gong practitioner from Huili County of Sichuan Province, was arrested on the evening of April 21, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong earlier in the month. At his court hearing on October 13, 2020, he was seen vomiting blood and seriously ill. At his lawyer's request, he was released on October 21 on bail for medical treatment. Below is a recount of the inhuman treatment Mr. Luo suffered during detention.

Mr. Luo was taken to the local detention center on April 12, 2019, and was initially locked up in cell No. 101. As he refused to wear the inmate's uniform, the cell head inmate Wu Wenjian forbade him from using anything including toilet paper and toiletries. Wu said to him, “You must follow the rules in here and wear our uniform; otherwise, we all don't have meat to eat.”

Inmates threw bugs in his clothes, flicked his forehead during sleep, and punched his arms like a sandbag as a game. Some of them cursed profanity toward Falun Gong’s founder and would not listen when he tried to reason with them.

After over twenty days in cell 101, Mr. Luo was transferred to cell 203. The inmates there forced him to sing songs praising the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) with the excuse that all inmates would not get any meat if he refused. As he remained silent, the head inmate Liao Song punched him in the face, causing his nose to bleed and teeth to become loose. Later Liao had another inmate sing the CCP songs all day long to Mr. Luo.

After seven days in cell 203, he was transferred to cell 205. The inmates pushed his head under water repeatedly. The head inmate punished him with extended hours on duty at night and squatting with the excuse that he disturbed others during their nap after lunch by using the toilet. One day as Mr. Luo refused an inmate’s demand to surrender his meal or chase after mosquitoes, inmate Wang Jilin slapped him in the face with a slipper and forced him to stand for an extended period of time.

The next day inmate Wang Jilin humiliated Mr. Luo by forcing him to hold an ear with one hand and the other hand pointing to the ground while turning around. Another inmate named Zhao Guorong forced him to wash his face with water from the toilet. Inmate Yang Jiankang asked others to put dish detergent on Mr. Luo's private part and squeeze it to inflict pain and humiliation. Inmate Liu Hewei took away the toilet paper while he was using the toilet. Liu also rubbed spicy pepper oil and pork lard on his back and kicked his slippers around as if it was a soccer ball.

When Mr. Luo walked through the hallway, inmates would block his path and demand he asks for their permission. Inmates would put their knee against his groin and twist his nipples. When Mr. Luo fell asleep while on a night watching duty, the inmates slapped his backside with insoles and punished him to stay on duty for the whole night covering all shifts. The inmates also played with his eyeglasses and threw them around.

When Mr. Luo resisted the persecution, the inmates would punch and kick him and squeeze his private part as they wished. An inmate kept rubbing a toothbrush under his fingernails until the skin was abraded open. Another inmate hit his knees with a chair, causing an immediate cyst filled with blood.

Mr. Luo was also routinely punched, kicked, slapped and humiliated. He became extremely thin, weak and disfigured.

On October 10, 2020, two inmates placed spicy pepper oil on his finger and forced his fingerprint on the confession statement to submit to the procuratorate. He was quick in grabbing the paper and tearing it into pieces. The next day the inmates dunked his head in a water bucket as retaliation and punched him in the eye when he resisted the persecution.

At the court hearing on October 13, 2020, Mr. Luo vomited blood. When asked by the bailiff, he revealed that it was caused by being punched by the inmates. The next morning, the detention center director and deputy director shackled him while swearing at him in reference to his revelation of his ill-treatment in the detention center. He remained shackled until October 21, 2020, when he was released on bail for medical treatment.
