(Minghui.org) Four Falun Gong practitioners in Cang County, Hebei Province were harassed for their faith in September 2020.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Officials of the Shijia Village in Daguanting Township went to Ms. Zhang Xiuhua’s home on September 20, 2020 and asked her opinion on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and Falun Gong’s founder.

Ms. Zhang talked about the CCP’s corruption, as well as the benefits that she has received in practicing Falun Gong.

Unable to refute Ms. Zhang's answers, the officials turned to her husband and asked him about the benefits she has received for practicing Falun Gong. Before he answered their question, the officials smeared Falun Gong’s founder.

Ms. Zhang’s husband told the officials he had never heard about the slanderous things the officials talked about, but he knew that Ms. Zhang would have been paralyzed and bedridden for a long time if she didn’t practice Falun Gong. He asked for the officials’ names and where they came from. They left without answering.

The officials then went to the home of another practitioner, Ms. Zhang Zhaoying, in the same village and asked her the same questions.

Ms. Zhang Zhaoying said she saw no hope in the CCP. Having gone through the Great Leap Forward (1958-1962), she knew all too well how the CCP used lies for political purposes. She gave an example of how the CCP exaggerated crop production during the Great Leap Forward: people were instructed to put all kinds of non-grain objects in bags during harvest time, and then claimed extraordinarily high yields (to the tune of 360 tons per acre) when the average production was about 2.4 tons per acre for wheat in 2010-2011 in China.

She said the persecution of Falun Gong was also based on the CCP's lies. She talked about how she has benefited from practicing Falun Gong and her gratitude towards its founder. The officials remained silent and left after a while.

On the next day, Shi Kunfeng, one of the officials who harassed the two practitioners, returned to their homes and gave both of them four books that slandered Falun Gong.

He also demanded the two practitioners to write statements to renounce Falun Gong, but they refused to comply.

In Zaolin Village, Daguanting Township, the officials went to Ms. Yang Xiuyun’s home to harass her. As Ms. Yang wasn’t home, the officials went to her daughter-in-law’s place, only to be asked to leave.

The officials in Wanghuitou Village, Dusheng Town also attempted to harass Mr. Li Fuxing in early September. As he wasn’t home either, they harassed his daughter over the phone.
