(Minghui.org) A Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia resident has been detained for six months for practicing Falun Gong. It’s reported that the police shocked her with electric batons because she refused to renounce her faith.

Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.

Ms. Li Caixia was arrested on July 2, 2019. Earlier that day, another local practitioner, Ms. Yu Guilan, in her 70s, was reported for putting up Falun Gong posters in a residential area. After going through the videos taken by surveillance camera in the neighborhood, the police found that Ms. Yu had visited Ms. Li that day and thus arrested both of them.

Ms. Sun Xiulan and her husband Mr. Ju Guanghua, who were also visited by Ms. Yu, were arrested on July 3.

Ms. Liu Yuping, Ms. Yu’s live-in nanny and also a Falun Gong practitioner, was arrested as well. Three other practitioners, including Ms. Liu Shulan, Ms. Zhang Limin, and Ms. Pan, who had contact with Ms. Yu and Ms. Li around those two days, were also arrested.

The police ransacked all of the practitioners’ homes and confiscated their personal belongings worth tens of thousands of yuan.

Most of the practitioners were released shortly afterwards, with Ms. Li remaining in custody.

Ms. Liu Shulan, who was still recovering from a car accident not long ago, was given three months of house arrest. She was terrified by the police, and her health condition worsened.

The police submitted banknotes printed with information about Falun Gong confiscated from Ms. Li’s home as prosecution evidence against her. She is now facing indictment by Hongshan District Procuratorate.
