(Minghui.org) Three Falun Gong practitioners are facing indictment after their arrests were approved on August 7, 2019.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The three practitioners, residents of Longkou City, Shandong Province, were arrested on July 3, 2019 for refusing to renounce their faith. The police also ransacked their homes and confiscated many of their personal belongings.
Ms. Fu Shurong and Ms. Yuan Yuqin are currently held at Yantai Detention Center. Mr. Yao Xinren is detained at Zhangjiagou Detention Center.
This is the second time that Mr. Yao has been targeted for his faith. He was previously detained for four years and fired from his position at a coal mining company for refusing to renounce his faith. He did odd jobs to make a living and support his child. Unable to bear the pressure of the persecution, his wife divorced him.
Ms. Fu used to suffer from severe migraine and was often in a bad mood. Her symptoms disappeared after she began to practice Falun Gong. She became more positive and took on more responsibility to take care of her mother-in-law.
Ms. Yuan is also known for taking good care of her parents-in-law. After her mother-in-law passed away, her father-in-law moved in with her and her husband. As the elderly man had constipation, she administered enemas to him without any complaint. When others praised her for being such a good daughter-in-law, she always credited Falun Gong for teaching her to be considerate of others.
After the persecution began, Ms. Fu and Ms. Yuan never hesitated to use their personal stories of becoming better daughters-in-law to dispel the slanderous propaganda against Falun Gong. They were thus targeted by the local police, who eventually arrested them.
