(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces, where at least 44 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhou Xiaoqing's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhou Xiaoqing from Jintang County was arrested on April 26, 2019, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong in Renshou County, Meishan City. Her whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Gu Xiuhua, Ms. Zhang Sanman, and Ms. Tan Chunrong, from Shihe Town in the Jinzhuo District, were arrested on March 18, 2018.

Ms. Gu was sentenced to a four-year prison term, while Ms. Zhang and Ms. Tan were each sentenced to three-years-and-eight-month prison terms.

The three practitioners were taken to the Liaoning Women's Prison on April 23, 2019.

3. [Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhong Xiufeng's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Zhong Xiufeng was arrested by officers from the Chengnan Police Department on the morning of April 23, 2019. Her whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Huiming Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Xu Huiming, from the Jiangjulu area, Dongxihu District, was arrested on the morning of April 18, 2019. She was held in the Wuhan City No. 1 Detention Center, before being transferred to the Etouwan Brainwashing Center in the Jiaokou District.

5. [Shanghai] Ms. Pei Shanzhen's Case Turned Over to Procuratorate

Ms. Pei Shanzhen from the Jing'an District was arrested at the door of her home by officers from the Huangpu District Police Department on December 27, 2018. She was officially placed under arrest on February 1, 2019, and her case was turned over to the Huangpu Procuratorate on April 9.

6. [Jingzhou City, Hubei Province] Ms. Deng Tianyu's Pension Suspended

Ms. Deng Tianyu, 69, from the Shashi District, was sentenced to four years in prison on July 5, 2008. Her pension was suspended by the Jingzhou City Human Resources and Social Security Bureau in February 2019.

7. [Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province] Fourteen Practitioners Arrested

Fourteen practitioners were arrested on the morning of April 23, 2019. They include Ms. Xie Tieping, Ms. Xu Fenlan, Ms. Jiang Liaoqing, Mr. Zhang Jiaosheng, Ms. Zhou Aizhen, Ms. Wang Jin'e, and Ms. Yan Qinghua.

Ms. Xie, Ms. Xu, and Ms. Jiang were released on April 28. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Zhou are still being held in a detention center. The remaining practitioners' whereabouts are unknown.

The police confiscated Falun Dafa books, printed materials, a tablet, laptop, and over 3,000 yuan paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them from Ms. Wang's home.

Falun Dafa books and over 1,600 yuan paper bills with Falun Gong information printed on them were confiscated from Ms. Zhou's home.

8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Du Fengqin and Ms. Li Yuqing Arrested

Ms. Du Fengqin and Ms. Li Yuqing from the Qinglongchang area were arrested by Lin Hui and others from the Qinglong Police Station on April 25, 2019. Their Falun Dafa books and materials were confiscated. Both practitioners have since returned home.

9. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Several Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Tianhui, his wife, Ms. Luo Juan, Ms. Li Zhixiang, Ms. Cai Yuanying, and other practitioners were recently arrested. Their whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Longkou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Xie Guiqin and Ms. Pan Yingchun Detained

Ms. Xie Guiqin was arrested by officers from the Qijia Police Station on the afternoon of April 25, 2019. She was taken to the Zhangjiagou Detention Center.

Ms. Pan Yingchun was recently arrested by plainclothes officers when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmers' market. She was detained for five days.

11. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Ms. Ye Huiming Taken to Prison

Ms. Ye Huiming was sentenced to four years in prison and fined 8,000 yuan. She was taken to the Xinxiang Women's Prison on May 1, 2019.

12. [Anshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Han Lishu Detained

Ms. Han Lishu from Xiuyan County was arrested on April 29, 2019. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Anshan Detention Center.

13. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Yuexia Detained

Ms. Guo Yuexia from Qian'an City was arrested on the morning of April 28, 2019, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong at the Pengdianzi Farmers' Market. She was taken to the Qian'an Detention Center.

14. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Ms. Lai Hanmei Detained

Ms. Lai Hanmei from Yueyang City was arrested by two plainclothes officers from the Chakou Town Domestic Security Division, Tiantang City, Anhui Province, and officers from the Yueyang Domestic Security Division in Hunan Province, on April 12, 2019. She was held in the Hubin Detention Center for ten days.

15. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Guizhen and Ms. Ping Xiuying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhu Guizhen and Ms. Ping Xiuying were arrested when they were talking to people about Falun Gong. They were tried by the Tai'an City Court on January 22, 2019.

Ms. Zhu was sentenced to a four-year prison term, and taken to the Shandong Province Women's Prison in March. Ms. Ping was sentenced to a two-year prison term, but was released on bail due to her poor health.

16. [Yulin City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Lei Runmei and Ms. Wang Tuoxiao Arrested

Ms. Lei Runmei and Ms. Wang Tuoxiao were arrested by the head of the Domestic Security Division and other officers on April 24, 2019.

17. [Guang'an City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Wanqiong Arrested

Ms. Chen Wanqiong was arrested at home on April 22, 2019.

18. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Elderly Ms. Jia Naizhi and Ms. Zhao Yulan Detained

Ms. Jia Naizhi, 70, and Ms. Zhao Yulan, 79, were arrested by two police officers who were lying in wait for them. Falun Dafa books and photos of the founder of Falun Gong were confiscated. They were taken to the Xinfu Police Station,

Ms. Jia and Ms. Zhao were transferred to the Fushun City Detention Center. Ms. Zhao was released due to a heart condition nine days later, while Ms. Jia was officially placed under arrest.

19. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Officially Arrested

Mr. Hu Shaowei, Mr. Liu Ying, and Mr. Zhang Dongqing were arrested by officers from the Yangshan Town Police Station, Chaoyang County, on the afternoon of March 24, 2019. They were held in the Chaoyang City Detention Center, and officially placed under arrest on April 25.

Their cases were turned over to the Chaoyang County Procuratorate by the Chaoyang County Domestic Security Division.
