(Minghui.org) Each year as April 25 approaches, Falun Gong practitioners around the world hold events to commemorate the peaceful appeal by an estimated 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing on April 25, 1999.
The practitioners' appeal requested the release of 45 practitioners who had been unjustly arrested in Tianjin, a city 60 miles east of Beijing. After word of the arrests spread, practitioners started to gather outside the State Appeals Office in Beijing to ask for their release. The appeal was peacefully resolved the same day.
Three months later, out of jealousy of Falun Gong's popularity, Jiang Zemin, then head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. The brutal persecution has spanned 20 years, and countless practitioners have been beaten or tortured to death in detention, beaten to disability, or murdered for their organs.
Falun Gong practitioners in China and around the world have been peacefully resisting the persecution and calling for its end since 1999.
Nagoya, Japan: Commemorating the Peaceful Protest

The practitioners held banners with the words “Falun Dafa is good,” “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” “Falun Dafa spreads across the world,” and “SOS stop the persecution of Falun Gong” in both Chinese and Japanese.
Several practitioners distributed flyers to passersby, taking the opportunity to talk to people about the CCP's brutal persecution, including the state-sanctioned live organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. The practitioners also collected signatures on a petition that calls for Jiang Zemin to be bought to justice.
Malaysia: Protesting the CCP's Persecution and Commemorating the April 25 Appeal

During the rally, they exposed the atrocities committed by the Chinese regime over the course of the persecution and called on people from all walks of life to work together to end the CCP's organ harvesting from Falun Gong practitioners. During the rally, a practitioner explained the significance of the April 25 event in both Chinese and Malay. He also pointed out that the appeal demonstrated the peaceful, rational and kind nature of practitioners.
