Additional Persecution News from China – March 10, 2019 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 8 provinces, where at least 13 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Huayuan County, Hunan Province] Mr. Xiao Yongkang Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Xiao Yongkang was sentenced to a four-year prison term on October 30, 2018. The Huayuan County Court's Judicial Panel consisted of Yang Zhaohui as the presiding judge, and Long Wenbo and Yang Lan as jurors.

Mr. Xiao appealed, but the Xiangxi Autonomous Prefecture Intermediate Court upheld the original verdict. Wang Ping was the presiding judge, and Long Hai and Yang Xianglu were jurors in the intermediate court.

2. [Jimo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Huang Kexin Detained

Officers from the Daxin Town Police Station went to Ms. Huang Kexin's home in Duijiubo Village on the morning of March 6, 2019.

Ms. Huang, in her 50s, was carried into a police car and taken to the police station. She was transferred to the Pudong Detention Center the same day.

3. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Ma Yixiang Detained

Ms. Ma Yixiang, from Xingcun Township, Hejian City, was arrested on March 6, 2019, for distributing Falun Gong materials. She is being held in the Hejian City Detention Center.

4. [Tanghe County, Henan Province] Mr. Chen Xinnian and His Wife Ms. Peng Tao Detained

Mr. Chen Xinnian and his wife Ms. Peng Tao from the Tanghe County Oilfield were reported to the authorities for talking to people about Falun Gong on February 16, 2019. They were arrested by officers from the Binhe Police Station. The officers ransacked their home and confiscated Falun Dafa books and an MP3 player.

Mr. Chen is being held in the Tanghe Detention Center, and Ms. Peng is being held in the Nanyang City Detention Center.

5. [Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Yang Hua and Ms. Wu Yali Denied Family Visits

When family members of Ms. Yang Hua and Ms. Wu Yali from Hanzhong City went to the Shaanxi Women's Prison to visit them on March 5, 2019, prison officials refused to allow them to meet with the two practitioners.

6. [Yuxi City, Yunnan Province] Mr. Chen Kunyuan Detained

Mr. Chen Kunyuan was followed and arrested on the afternoon of February 5, 2019. He was taken to the Panlong District Detention Center the following day.

7. [Nanchong City, Sichuan Province] Gong Qinglin Arrested

Gong Qinglin, from Jincheng Town, Yilong County, was arrested by several police officers on March 7, 2019. The officers ransacked Gong's home and confiscated a notebook computer, printer, Falun Dafa books, printed materials, and paper currency bills with Falun Gong information printed on them.

8. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Mr. Ma Qing Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Ma Qing was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.

9. [Shanghai] Ms. Wu Yuqin Facing Trial

Ms. Wu Yuqin from the Putuo District will be tried by the Jing'an District Court on the afternoon of March 20, 2019.

10. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Wenhua and Ms. Li Xiuyun Arrested

Ms. Zhang Wenhua and Ms. Li Xiuyun were arrested on the morning of March 8, 2019, when they were about to distribute informational materials about Falun Gong at the Zhang Village Farmers' Market.

Both practitioners were taken to the Zhang Police Station, where they were interrogated and photographed. They were released that afternoon.
