Additional Persecution News from China – November 15, 2019 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 12 provinces, where at least 30 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Jiuquan City, Gansu Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Elderly practitioners Ms. He Niudui, Ms. Zhang Guilan, Ms. Xu Huifang, and Ms. Luo Gengxiu were arrested by officers from Suzhou District Police Department and Youtian Police Department on October 31, 2018. Their homes were ransacked, and they were taken to a detention center.

The four practitioners were sentenced by the local court on November 1, 2019.Ms. He was sentenced to a five-year prison term.Ms. Xu was sentenced to a three-and-a-half-year prison term.Ms. Zhang was sentenced to a three-year-and-three-month prison term.Ms. Luo was sentenced to a one-year prison term.

Ms. He had been sentenced to prison twice before. Ms. Zhang and Ms. Xu were detained in 2015 for filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party.

2. [Hefei City, Anhui Province] Mr. Wu Weiming Officially Arrested

Mr. Wu Weiming was officially placed under arrest by Yaohai District Procuratorate.

3. [Qishan County, Shaanxi Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Mr. Shen Hongqi, an appliance repairman, has been held in Qishan County Detention Center for three and a half months. After his 90-year-old mother learned that he was being detained, she could not bear the pressure and passed away.

After Ms. Xu Mingxia was arrested, the police pried opened the door of her home and ransacked the place.

Ms. Jiao Binglan was detained, and her home ransacked.

Ms. Ya Lan was also detained.

4. [Chongqing] Ms. Zou Hualan Arrested

Ms. Zou Hualan, in her late 60s, from the Changshou District, was arrested at home by four or five police officers on November 13, 2019.

An officer from Yanjia Police Station called Ms. Zou's younger sister that evening, and told her that Ms. Zou would be sent to a detention center, and asked her to send clothes.

Ms. Zou was released from Zunyi City No. 2 Detention Center in July 2019, after being held there for two years.

5. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xiao Naijing Arrested

Ms. Xiao Naijing was recently arrested.

6. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Yongxin and Ms. Zhu Ruihua Arrested

Mr. Li Yongxin and Ms. Zhu Ruihua from the Lanshan District were arrested by officers from Hongbusi Police and Shichang Police Station in August 2019, for distributing information about Falun Gong. Mr. Li’s case has been turned over to Lanshan Procuratorate. Ms. Zhu’s case has been passed to Lanshan Court.

7. [Zhoukou City, Henan Province] Ms. He Meiying Arrested

Ms. He Meiying, in her 70s, was arrested by officers from Jianshelu Police Station on October 18, 2019, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Two people, who had listened to Ms. He, were also taken to the police station. They were intimidated for several hours before being released.

The officers ransacked Ms. He’s home, but didn't find anything incriminating.

Ms. He was taken to a detention center the following day, but they authorities there refused to admit her because she had high blood pressure. She was then released.

8. [Yanji City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wen Yingjia on Hunger Strike

Ms. Wen Yingjia was recorded by a student from Yanbian University, when she was talking to people about Falun Gong. The student then reported her to the police. Ms. Wen was arrested by officers from Yanji City Domestic Security Division on November 8, 2019. Her home was ransacked.

Ms. Wen is being held in a detention center, and has been on hunger strike for four days. She is now emaciated.

9. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Manqin Detained

Ms. Wang Manqin was taken to Handan City Detention Center.

10. [Maoming City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Zhang Guangyu Detained

Mr. Zhang Guangyu from Gaozhou City was arrested on the afternoon of November 11, 2019, at the High-Speed Rail entrance when his national ID card was checked. He was on a business trip to Zhanjiang City, and was carrying Falun Gong materials in his bag.

Police searched Mr. Zhang’s workplace, and ransacked his home that evening. They confiscated his Falun Dafa books.

Mr. Zhang’s family was notified the following day that Mr. Zhang had been detained for ten days and fined 900 yuan.

11. [Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Gao Xiuli Detained

Ms. Gao Xiuli was arrested at Tieling West Railway Station, Liaoning Province, on the morning of November 13, 2019, when she was going to visit her daughter in Shanghai. She was found with a copy of Zhuan Falun in her bag.

The police took her to her home in Diaobingshan City, and ransacked it. They didn't find anything incriminating.

Ms. Gao is being held in Tieling Detention Center for 15 days.

12. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shumin Arrested

Ms. Wang Shumin, in her 50s, was arrested on October 31, 2019.

13. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Hongli Detained

Officer Xing Zhiguo from Ningjiang No. 2 Police Department, director Du from Binjiang Police Station, and other officers pried open the door of Ms. Wang Hongli’s home and ransacked it on September 10, 2019. They confiscated a notebook computer, hard disk, cell phone, and memory cards. Ms. Wang was detained for 15 days.

14. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] 81-Year-Old Ms. Hou Shuang Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Hou Shuang, 81, from Beijing, was sentenced to a four-year prison term by Kuancheng District Court and Changchun City Intermediate Court for refusing to give up her belief. The authorities attempted to take her directly to Changchun Women's Prison.

Ms. Hou Shuang was arrested at the checkpoint of Changchun Train Station, when she was found carrying a Falun Dafa e-book. She has been held in Jilin City Detention Center for seven months. She lived alone before the arrest.

15. [Zhengzhou City, Henan Province] Mr. Guo Baojun Detained

Mr. Guo Baojun was arrested by officers from Baizhai Town Police Station, Xinmi City, on the evening of November 10, 2019. He was taken to Xinmi Detention Center, and transferred to Zhengzhou City No. 3 Detention Center on the evening of November 13.

16. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhang Wencheng and His Wife Ms. Pan Yunxiang Arrested

Mr. Zhang Wencheng, 62, and his wife Ms. Pan Yunxiang, 60, are from Xiazhangzi Village, Ha'ernao Township, Beipiao City. The police ransacked their home in the early hours of November 8, 2019, when they were out doing farm work in the hills. The police confiscated their Falun Dafa books, printer, and notebook computer.

They arrested the couple, and took them to Ha’ernao Police Station for interrogation. Mr. Zhang and Ms. Pan were given physical exams that afternoon. Mr. Zhang was handcuffed and taken to Sijing Detention Center. Ms. Pan’s whereabouts are unknown.

17. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Cases of Four Practitioners Turned Over to Procuratorate

Mr. Chen Yixin, Ms. Zheng Tianqiong, and several other elderly practitioners from the Dafeng Neighborhood, Xindu District, were arrested by officers from Jinniu District Domestic Security Division and Dafeng Police Station. Their homes were ransacked.

The cases of Mr. Chen, Ms. Mao, Ms. Zhang, and another practitioner with the last name Du have recently been turned over to Jinniu Procuratorate.
