(Minghui.org) My husband and I are both practitioners. He does the exercises every morning. However, I've been in the state of, “Fishing for three days and then resting for two,” regarding the exercises. I always asked my husband to wake me up in the morning to do them with him. He would wake me up as I asked, but I never got up right away.
One morning, my husband woke me up and asked me to get up to do the exercises. Instead I turned over and fell asleep again. I had a dream: I searched for the credit card that was inserted in the journal book (we have a clothing store, the book was usually used for bookkeeping). I knew the credit card was inserted in the book, but I couldn’t find it. After I woke up, I quickly searched my wallet and found that the card was there. The dream was very vivid.
I realized that I was a practitioner. Because I did not always keep my promise, I had this dream. Wasn't what I did the opposite of what a practitioner is supposed to do? Aren't we supposed to keep our promises?
Master said,
“What is true faith? You’re merely saying with your mouth that you have faith, but in your heart you don’t actually have faith. Why do I say that? Because when you truly have faith your actions match your words.” (Teaching the Fa at the Conference in Europe )
I was lazy, but that was not my true self. I was determined to eliminate this attachment. The next morning I got up and did the exercises. Although occasionally I do not get up on time, I plan to keep my promise.
People Are Moved by Our Upright Behavior
Every day I cultivate myself in accordance with the requirements of Dafa. I want to do what Master suggested, “...so as to attain the righteous Enlightenment of selflessness and altruism.” (“Non-Omission in Buddha-Nature” in Essentials for Further Advancement)
The owner of the store next-door noticed the copper bell hanging on the door of my clothing store and liked it. Whenever a customer entered the store, I could hear the bell ringing. She asked me to buy two for her, so I ordered them.
When the order was delivered, I found that the supplier sent more than 10, that is, a total of 12 were delivered. I contacted the supplier, and explained the situation. I told them I would like to pay for the extra bells. The supplier was very touched and happy, thanked me, and generously gave the extra bells to me.
It was a coincidence that I also ordered a shelf for our store. The supplier accidentally shipped an extra one. Each one cost hundreds of yuan. If I returned the shelf it would cost the supplier money. In order to reduce his loss, I paid for it since I could use it in the store. The supplier was very grateful to me.
Practitioners do things according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, and feel bright and steady in their hearts.
