Additional Persecution News from China – December 20, 2019 (16 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 13 provinces. According to this report, 10 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 14 were illegally arrested.

1. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Wang Fei Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Fei was sentenced to 18 months in prison and fined 5,000 yuan by the Hongshan District Court on December 5, 2018. His family said that they would appeal.

2. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Ren Suxiang Arrested

Ms. Ren Suxiang from Bajia Village, Yuanbaoshan Town, was arrested on the morning of December 18, 2018.

3. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Fan Yunfei Arrested

Mr. Fan Yunfei was arrested at home on December 19, 2018.

4. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Cai Chunpeng's Father Dies

Mr. Cai Chunpeng, 39, was a senior engineer in the Information Engineering Department of Guangdong Industrial University, Shantou City. He has been repeatedly harassed and sent to a forced labor camp and prison by agents from the Chenghai District Political and Legal Affairs Committee, 610 Office, and Domestic Security Division.

His father, Mr. Cai Qinxu, was in his 70s. He witnessed the authorities abusing his son and was frightened. He was so anxious about his son that he fell sick. He died on November 17, 2018.

5. [Dongguang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Sun Guifen Detained

Ms. Sun Guifen was arrested by officers from the Yuqiao Township Police Station on December 20, 2018, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Wangla Open Market in Yuqiao.

Ms. Sun was taken to the Dongguang County Detention Center and later transferred to Cangnan Detention Center.

6. [Jinhuan City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Zhu Zuoxin on Trial

Mr. Zhu Zuoxin has been repeatedly arrested for practicing Falun Gong. He was detained for 15 days by the Jiangnan Police Department on August 27, 2018, and was subjected to criminal detention on September 7.

Mr. Zhu was tried in the Wucheng District Court.

7. [Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province] Mr. Yi Zhuwen Detained

Mr. Yi Zhuwen was arrested at home by officers from Chaling County on the afternoon of December 7, 2018. He was taken to the Chaling Detention Center.

8. [Chongqing] Mr. Zhu Zhihe Released on Sentenced

Mr. Zhu Zhihe, 79, from the Changshou District was arrested by officer Che Rao and others from the Bake Town Police Station on December 10, 2018. He was released later that night. He was sentenced to 18 months, to be served outside of prison, and fined 3,000 yuan.

9. [Feng County, Shaanxi Province] Five Practitioners Subjected to Brainwashing

Mr. Ou Zhengquan, Mr. Li Baoyu, Ms. Li Chunlian, Mr. Li Changsheng, and Mr. Xin Tanglu, all from Fengzhou Town, were taken to the Fengzhou Detention Center and subjected to brainwashing on November 21, 2018.

Ms. Li Changsheng and Mr. Xin were detained for six days. There is no further information about the other practitioners.

10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Han Bin and two other practitioners were arrested on December 17, 2018.

11. [Gengma County, Yunnan Province] Ms. Chang Chengmei Taken to Prison

Ms. Chang Chengmei was arrested on February 8, 2018, and held in the Gengma Detention Center for more than eight months. She was sentenced to 15 months in prison in October 2018 and taken to Yunnan No. 2 Prison on November 22.

12. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Sun Xintian’s Case Submitted to Procuratorate

Mr. Sun Xintian, 80, was reported to the police when he was distributing Falun Gong informational materials in a residential building in May 2018. He was arrested by officers from the Dongjian Police Station, and his home was ransacked. His case was submitted to the Yuanbao Procuratorate on September 6.

Mr. Sun’s family received a call from the police station on December 12, saying that his case has been transferred to the Zhenan District Procuratorate.

13. [Shouguang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Xiujuan Beaten in Detention Center

Ms. Zhang Xiuyuan from Zhaojia Village, Gucheng, Shouguang City, was arrested at her rental apartment by officers from the Shouguang Domestic Security Division on June 3, 2018. Her husband was also taken away. Their home was ransacked.

The police went to Zhaojia Village and took Ms. Zhang’s parents-in-law to the police station, leaving two school-aged children home alone. Ms. Zhang’s parents-in-law and husband were released after being held for two days.

Ms. Zhang was taken to the Weifang Detention Center, where the guards brutally beat her.

14. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Liu Shufang Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Shufang was tried on September 18, 2018. She was sentenced to three years in prison a week later.

15. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Provicne] Three Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Gao Xianying, Ms. Zhang Yuanhua, and Ms. Zou Mingying were sentenced to prison by the Hejiang Court.

Ms. Gao, in her 70s, was sentenced to seven years. Ms. Zhang was sentenced to three and a half years. Ms. Zou was sentenced to 18 months.

16. [Huaihua City, Hunan Province] Ms. Yang Linying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Yang Linying was arrested on the morning of October 9, 2017, and taken to the Huaihua Detention Center. She was tried in the Hecheng District Court on May 30, 2018.

She was released from the detention center on October 8. The detention center showed her a written judgment from the court that said she had been sentenced to one year in prison.
