Additional Persecution News from China – January 5, 2019 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where 12 Falun Gong practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

6. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qu Lijun Arrested

8. [Taian City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuping and Ms. Di Jinping Detained
9. [Shantou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wu Peiwen's Arrest Approved

1. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Chunlan and Mr. Liu Shaojun Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Chunlan, from Wanghua District, was arrested by officers from the Jianshe Police Station on April 23, 2018. Her arrest was approved in May and her case was sent to the Wanghua Court in September. It was recently learned that she was sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 5,000 yuan.

Mr. Liu Shaojun, from Wanghua District, was arrested by officers from the Jianshe Police Station on April 24, 2018. He was recently sentenced to a two-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 3,000 yuan.

2. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. He Xunming's Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. He Xunming's whereabouts have been unknown for seven months. He was once detained at Shandong Province Prison for five years.

3. [Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Zhao Changfu and Ms. Sun Guangli Face Indictment

Mr. Zhao Changfu and Ms. Sun Guangli were arrested on August 22, 2018. Their cases were brought to the Lingyuan City Procuratorate.

Mr. Cui Rishao was arrested by officers from the Dongguan Police Station on January 2, 2019.

5. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhang Lei Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Zhang Lei, from Niujiapai Town, was sentenced to a one-and-a-half-year prison term and fined 10,000 yuan.

6. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Qu Lijun Arrested

Ms. Qu Lijun, from Shouwangfen Town, was arrested by officers from the Xinglong County Domestic Security Division on August 28, 2017, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was detained for 15 days and then transferred to the Shuangfengsi Detention Center in Chengde City. She was released on bail pending trial on October 2.

Afterwards, Ms. Qu refused to report to the local police department or the police station and she was arrested again by the officers in early 2018. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Huanghua City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wang Deyou Detained

Mr. Wang Deyou was arrested by officers from the Changguo Town Police Station on January 4, 2019, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is currently held at the Huanghua City Detention Center.

8. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wang Xiuping and Ms. Di Jinping Detained

Ms. Wang Xiuping and Ms. Di Jinping were arrested at the Tai'an Bus Station by officers from the Zhanqian Police Station on December 26, 2018, for having informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were transferred to the Taishan District Domestic Security Division. Their homes were ransacked by officers including deputy captain Li Xiaoming and captain Tian Lin from the 610 Office. They are currently held at the Tai'an City Detention Center.

Ms. Wu Peiwen was arrested at home by officers from the Jinping District Domestic Security Division and the Guangxia Police Station on November 28, 2018. Her arrest was recently approved by the Jinping District Procuratorate.
