Power of Dafa: Recovery from Disability

(Minghui.org) I was deaf in my left ear and could only utter sounds by the time I was 10 but could not express myself.

My neighbor introduced Falun Dafa to me in early 1999. A few days after I began to practice Dafa, my body felt light, and my hearing and speech improved. Thus, my family is very supportive of my cultivating in Dafa, because I can hear and speak like a normal person now.

Solemn Declaration After Being “Transformed”

Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, launched the persecution of Falun Dafa after I had cultivated for six months. I was illegally arrested and sentenced to one year of forced labor. I was “transformed” in the labor camp, because I could no longer endure the torture.

However, when my mind was clear again, I remembered the teachings of Dafa and the benefits I had received from cultivating in Dafa. I regretted having betrayed Dafa. I wrote a solemn declaration to render null and void my denouncing Falun Dafa, which was done under coercion by the guards.

When I handed the solemn statement to the guards, I saw with my celestial eye that I had fallen into a deep pit. However, on the edge sat an old man who was holding his hands in the big lotus position. He then arranged for someone to drag me out of the pit. Flowers were blooming in the sky – a magnificent scene for which I lack the words to describe. I knew that Teacher Li, the founder of Falun Dafa, had saved me. He used the beautiful scene to encourage me to continue cultivating.

Breaking Through Tribulations

I returned home after one and a half years. My brother and his wife told me to practice Christianity instead so that I would not be persecuted again. My husband, who was not a Dafa practitioner, continued to support my faith in Dafa. I was deeply touched by his support, and remained determined to diligently cultivate.

Teacher Li told practitioners to do the three things, but most importantly, to study the Fa well. I joined a Falun Dafa group Fa study, but realized that I was not welcome because I had problems with articulating the words clearly.

I struggled with this: how could I study the Fa with fellow cultivators if no one wanted me there? Reading aloud clearly is a very easy thing for everyone, but for me, it was a difficult task.

Why could I not talk clearly like the others did? I asked myself that question. With Teacher and Dafa, I believed that I should be able to break through all tribulations. I knelt and cried in front of Teacher's portrait, asking Teacher to help me. I said that I would study the Fa more diligently and articulate all the words clearly.

I gradually gained the ability to read clearly after that, and my fellow practitioners began to accept me. My family and friends were amazed because of the power of Falun Dafa.

Entire Family Benefits from Falun Dafa

I am 61 years old now, but I look much younger than my age and walk very fast. I go to farmers' markets, bus stops, shopping centers, and public parks every day to tell people the facts about Falun Dafa. No one can tell that I used to be deaf and could not speak clearly.

When it was time to renew my disability certificate, I told people in the office that I did not need it anymore because Falun Dafa had cured me – I have gained my hearing and can talk very clearly now. Everyone was amazed to see the changes in me.
