(Minghui.org) A Wuhan City resident has been forced to live away from home in order to avoid further arrests for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Wang Chunhong is employed by the Jinyinhu Neighborhood Committee. Xu Jun, the committee director, threatened to fire her after learning that she is a Falun Gong practitioner. Ms. Wang told him that no law says that practicing Falun Gong is a crime or that Falun Gong practitioners cannot work in city government committees.
Xu had no legal documents to back up his claim and just yelled at Ms. Wang, “I say you can't practice Falun Gong because the government says so!”
Ms. Wang again requested to see what legal basis there was to ban Falun Gong. Xu had nothing to show, but he ordered officer Yang Zehua to arrest Ms. Wang on July 2, 2018.
Yang took Ms. Wang to the Jinyinhu Police Station, where he searched her and took her house key. Led by neighborhood committee staff member Wang Hua (no relation to Ms. Wang), Yang went to ransack Ms. Wang's home and confiscate her Falun Gong books.
Ms. Wang was held for 24 hours before being released. The neighborhood committee suspended her temporarily but ordered her to show up at her office every day to listen to a group of people defaming Falun Gong.
Ms. Wang refused to be brainwashed by those people and filed a request for time off so she didn't have to go to her office.
In response, the neighborhood committee dispatched two cars to her home on July 10, attempting to take her to a local brainwashing center.
Ms. Wang managed to escape but has been forced to live away from home to avoid further arrests.
The neighborhood committee threatened to penalize Ms. Wang claiming that “they never approved her time-off request and she failed to show up for work.”
