(Minghui.org) One day while working in the field, my husband, who does not practice Falun Gong, and I received a phone call from our neighbor. He said he was building a fence and wanted us to go home and look at what he had done. We saw that the fence foundation occupied two rows of our land on which I grew vegetables.

When we phoned the neighbor back, he said he wasn't encroaching on our garden. My husband jumped up and said, “You have clearly occupied our land, and yet you say you didn't?” He was so upset and wanted to go back home immediately to fight with him.

I stopped him and spoke to him logically from the perspective of a practitioner. “You have read Zhuan Falun,” I said. “And you know there is a law in the universe: No loss, no gain. If we owe our neighbors, we need to pay them back. If we don't owe them, their actions will give us virtue. We don't need to grow so many vegetables, because we can’t eat them all anyway. If we give them some of our land, then we won't have to work as hard to grow the extra vegetables.”

I also told him an ancient story called “Six Feet Alley” that described how a neighbor gave three feet of his land to a family that was building a fence.

“Why don’t we do the same thing?” I asked. My husband calmed down. We thus avoided a battle with our neighbor.

My neighbor later asked me, “Why did you let us take your land so easily?”

“Because I practice Falun Gong, my Master teaches us to follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance,” I said. “If I didn't practice Falun Gong, I wouldn’t have a high-level sense of morality and I would have fought with you.”

The neighbors then appreciated Dafa from the bottom of their hearts and even read some Falun Gong information brochures. For the Chinese New Year they hung couplets with Falun Gong messages on their door. The whole family has since renounced their memberships in the Chinese Communist Party.

Later, when we were selling our house, they helped us write the ad, which helped us sell it for a fair price.

On another occasion, we bought an acre of land from neighbor A. When the time to plant corn came, we found that neighbor B had already seeded the land we had bought. Last year, neighbor B had planted tobacco on his land. Everybody knows that after using land to grow tobacco, the following years will have a low yield, so we couldn’t use his land from the previous year.

My husband went to the property records office with neighbors A and B to check the land records. Neither A or B could justify their actions.

After that, neighbor B came to my house and said, “The seeds are already planted. What should I do? You don't want me to dig up the seeds, do you?”

I said, “I practice Falun Gong. My Master teaches us to think of others when we encounter things. You can grow your crops on my land.”

Neighbor B was expecting me to argue with him or ask for money, but the issue was easily resolved. I added, “Please give thanks to Falun Dafa.” He said, “Thank you,” again and again before returning home.

I then suggested to my husband, “Let's plant crops on the tobacco land.” In the two areas that neighbor B had previously used to grow tobacco, the corn sprouted late and some didn't grow at all. When it grew to the point that the husks were still green, I harvested some of the corn and shared it with the villagers.

Miraculously, when the harvest season came, no one's land produced more corn than the poor land we had used. Neighbor B's wife said, “Look at the Falun Gong practitioner—she has a good heart and thus a good harvest. Next year, we should follow them and plant what they plant so we can get some of Dafa’s good fortune.” She later read the book Zhuan Falun.
