(Minghui.org) Ms. A Mei [alias] lives in a rural area and began practicing Falun Dafa in 1996.
Because she had many siblings and the family had little money, she dropped out of school in Grade 3 to allow her siblings to attend school in her place. When A Mei grew up, she married and had four daughters. However, since she had no sons, her mother-in-law looked down on her and would not help look after the children. She also constantly criticized A Mei, and used every opportunity to make her life difficult.
After A Mei began practicing Falun Dafa, she followed the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance and stopped resenting her mother-in-law's behavior. Instead she became very respectful of her husband's parents. She washed their bedding and laundry, and cooked for them. Her husband is the youngest child and has two older brothers. In contrast, her brothers-in-law did not seem to care about their elderly parents. Her father-in-law was very touched by A Mei's kindness.
When A Mei noticed that her in-laws’ dinner table was about to collapse, she bought a new one for them. Her brother-in-law criticized her and said that she should have just fixed the table instead of wasting money on a new one. When A Mei’s sister-in-law saw that her parents-in-law had a new TV, she took it to her place. A Mei immediately purchased a new one to replace it and brought it to her parents-in-law's home.
At one point, her father-in-law’s old bike was broken, so A Mei bought him a new one. When she noticed that their old bed had become unstable she purchased a new bed. She also had a gas stove and heater installed for them to use in winter.
A Mei's in-laws were touched by her compassion, and they spoke highly of her to the other villagers.
All the villagers knew that A Mei practiced Falun Dafa and remarked that she was kind and compassionate because Dafa teaches people to be good. Gradually, they all began to think positively about Dafa, especially when they compared the behavior of the other two brothers and their wives towards the elderly parents.
When her father-in-law died, A Mei showed even more care towards her mother-in-law. She cut her nails, bathed her, washed her linens, bought new clothing for her for special occasions and made new bedding. She made sure that her mother-in-law was clean and comfortable. When her mother-in-law became ill, A Mei took her to the doctor, cooked for her, and looked after her. Even when the elderly lady lost control of her bowels and bladder, A Mei immediately cleaned up after her. Her brothers-in-law would not help, but instead quickly left.
At one point, the three brothers agreed that they should take turns looking after their mother. In A Mei’s home, the mother was given the best room, which is warm in winter and cool in summer, and clean bedding. When it was time for the two other brothers to take care of their mom, they put her in the worst rooms in their houses. The mother-in-law could not help praising A Mei. She said that she did not want to leave A Mei’s home and that when she did, she could not wait to go back.
In 2017, the mother-in-law was hospitalized. A Mei bought new bedding for her and went to the hospital to care for her. She even stayed all night. The other patients’ relatives noticed how carefully A Mei took care of her and asked if A Mei was her daughter. A Mei explained that she practiced Falun Dafa and that Master taught her to be considerate of other people. She used the opportunity to clarify the truth to them and their relatives and helped them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its youth organizations.
After the mother-in-law passed away, she was supposed to be buried with the father-in-law on the land owned by the second brother. But he refused to allow her to be buried there, and was even quite rude about it. The village head tried to intervene, because if someone died and had nowhere to be buried, it was a big deal. A Mei decided to offer to have her buried on her land. In the end, the remains of the family's three relatives including her father-in-law, were exhumed and buried on A Mei's land. The mother-in-law was given a proper and dignified burial.
Because she did this, A Mei became very well known in the area for her extraordinary kindness. Everyone knew that if she had not practiced Falun Dafa, she would not have been willing to do all that she had done. The situation would have caused a lot of trouble in the family and torn them apart. Worse yet, the family would have been ridiculed by the villagers. Because of A Mei's generosity, the situation was smoothly and quietly resolved. Now all the villagers say positive things about A Mei and Falun Dafa, and many have said, “Falun Dafa is good!”
Afterwards, it was easy for A Mei to talk to people about Falun Dafa and ask them to quit the CCP. Now when she posts information about Dafa throughout the village, the materials stay up for a long time. Some villagers even ask her for materials about Dafa to read.
A Mei is very diligent and has not let up in doing the three things. Although her literacy level is low, with Master’s help and the assistance of fellow practitioners, she runs a small Dafa materials production site in her home. It has been in operation for the past few years without issue. Her whole family is supportive of her practicing Falun Dafa.
If Dafa disciples do a good job, no one will believe in the evil’s lies. As the truth of Falun Dafa becomes known, Dafa disciples are indeed “...the sole hope of salvation for the world’s people...” (“Fa Teaching Given at the Epoch Times Meeting” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference X)
