Additional Persecution News from China – June 27, 2018 (9 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 5 were illegally arrested.

1. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Mr. Xia Baohua Arrested

Mr. Xia Baohua was arrested by officers from the Rongguang Police Station on June 22, 2018, for filing a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party.

Mr. Xia was taken to the Weizigou Detention Center, but was not accepted because he had high blood pressure.

2. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Tian Jine's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Tian Jine never returned home after leaving on the morning of June 25, 2018. Officers from the local police station ransacked her home on the evening of June 25.

She may have been arrested, but her whereabouts are unknown.

3. [Beijing] Ms. Fan Jirong Arrested

Ms. Fan Jirong was arrested by officers from the Yanqing Police Station on the evening of June 24, 2018, after she was reported to the authorities for putting up Falun Gong fliers. The officers confiscated her hand copied Falun Gong books from her home.

Ms. Fan was taken away by officers from Changping Police Department. Her whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Mr. Wang Yuqing and His Wife Ms. Wu Qinglan Sentenced

Mr. Wang Yuqing and his wife, Ms. Wu Qinglan, from Lixin County were arrested by officers from the Lixin Domestic Security Division, police station, and police department on September 3, 2017, after they were caught on surveillance cameras putting up Falun Gong fliers. The police ransacked their home and fined both of them 5,000 yuan each.

Mr. Wang and Ms. Wu were tried secretly in the Lixin Court on May 18, 2018. Mr. Wang was sentenced to a three-year prison term, while Ms. Wu was sentenced to three-and-a-half years on probation.

Their family filed an appeal on May 28, but the court refused to accept it, citing that the appeal period had passed.

Mr. Wang was taken to the Baihu Prison on May 31.

5. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Meirong and Mr. Liu Anjie Arrested

Liu Hesheng from Qianbeihao Village took three officers from the Changle Development Zone Police Station to Ms. Liu Meirong and Mr. Liu Anjie home on the morning of May 27, 2018. They ransacked the place without showing any search warrant.

Two officers arrested Ms. Liu and Mr. Liu on May 29, 2018, and questioned the source of their Falun Gong materials back at the police station.

They were released later that evening.

6. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Dou Jun Detained

Ms. Dou Jun from Lanzhou City, Gansu Province lives in Shenzhen City. She was arrested by officers from the Nanshan District Police Department on October 17, 2017.

Ms. Dou was taken to the Nanshan Detention Center, and is now officially under arrest.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Sun Lihua Detained

Mr. Sun Lihuan from the Zhifu District was caught on surveillance cameras distributing Falun Gong materials. He was then tracked by police. Officers from the Binhai Police Station in the Laishan District arrested him at his home on the evening of June 22, 2018.

Mr. Sun is being held in the Yantai City Detention Center.

8. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Mr. Sun Guichang Detained, Ms. Xiao Yongfen on Probation

Mr. Sun Guichang and Ms. Xiao Yongfen were arrested.

Mr. Sun was tried in the Dehui City Court on May 11, 2018, and is being held in the Dehui Detention Center.

Ms. Xiao was released and put under house arrest because of her poor health.

9. [Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Fulan's Appeal Rejected

Ms. Chen Fulan from Huazhuang Village was sentenced to ten months in prison. She has appealed.

Judge Gao Chunyan from the Zaozhuang City Intermediate Court notified her family that the appeal had been rejected.
